Re: Power consumption on G11G
Hi Brian ... I¡¯ve got the G-11 with Gemini2. I use three of Pyramid PS-14K power supplies I got off Amazon. The Pyramids have 13.8V At 12 amps. I use one just for the G-11, but that¡¯s an overkill.

Re: Power consumption on G11G
Brian, when I was in the investigation part. Realized all the threads on Cloudynights are really old, the new G11 with all the updates is really really well done. I had a great conversation with Issac

Re: Power consumption on G11G
Brian Tucker, My G11G with Gemini 2-mini and HT servos when tracking at sidereal rate draws well under 0.5A, typically about 0.25-0.3 @18V from my bench supply. When slewing at the standard G11 rate

Re: Power consumption on G11G
Welcome WD4DX,The G11 works better with higher voltage, between 12 volts DC and 19 volts DC. My remote setup is a deep cell Marine battery with one of Michael Herman's voltage boosters

Thanks to all for your suggestions... I did fashion a makeshift cover to protect the mount itself and the Gemini computer from the sun. Re - running in the cold. I can say I have imaged pretty close

Power consumption on G11G
I'm investigating getting a G-11G, and have a question - I've viewed quite a few of the youtube videos from the Losmandy Channel, as well as several independent reviews, which are all pretty stellar.

Re: Leaving Mount in the sun
Tim, Have used my Gll at cooler temps. (0 to -5 F) with no issues. Below that cables become brittle and rigid. I do get a frost build up on the inside of the roll off roof when it is -10 to -20 F .

Hi Greg! I took one of mine out and it appears to me to be a 4/40 TPI and is 1/4" long. Also it takes a 1/16" Allan wrench. All American dimensions, as you would expect. I think if you email

Re: Leaving Mount in the sun
I used to leave my mount out 24/7/365. But my brand new GM811G HD is just to darn pretty for that. But, for those who would like to, I suggest a $15 portable dome. I always covered my mount (POS that
