¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWelcome WD4DX,The G11 works better with higher voltage, between 12 volts DC and 19 volts DC. My remote setup is a deep cell Marine battery with one of Michael Herman's voltage boosters (mherman346@... ) 12 volts DC in 17.3 volts DC out.
Or you can use any other voltage boosters like a SMAKN -12-15-225W? DC- DC converter off Ebay it runs about $ 30.00, I have it for a back up but I like Michael Herman's device it has a Ameter that I can use t help in balancing the RA or DEC. You will Love
your Losmandy G11, when you get out with it under starry skies and get used to how it works you will know you made a right choice in mounts. The one place I made rookie errors with mine was I expected it to work like my AVX mount and it does not. And when
you set your Location and time zone remember the little minus sign. I made that mistake right off the get go. HAPPY SKIES Deric

Subject: [Losmandy_users_io] Power consumption on G11G
I'm investigating getting a G-11G, and have a question - I've viewed quite a few of the youtube videos from the Losmandy Channel, as well as several independent reviews, which are all pretty stellar.? My question is around Power consumption.?
Being an EQ6 user, I'm used to powering my entire setup from a single Deep Cycle marine battery, and am curious if I need to beef up the power, as I did see a couple of references to this mount being a little power heavy (Maybe it's the Gemini 2 system with
the Servos)?? Can someone provide some insight to the energy consumption when slewing/tracking?? I read that the Gemini 2 system needs 500ma to run, but with?the servo motors, i'm thinking that's a little low for a slew factor.??
If this needs to be posted to the Gemini 2 users group, I'm happy to post there, and thank you for reading!
