those are probably good suggestions, but it sounds like they don't directly solve your problem.
if you have uncovered your worm cover and see the motor/worm gear is moving but not engaging the worm wheel, you need to adjust that spacing so the gear is moving. I am slightly surprised if that is the case, as usually mounts that are in storage for a while have the opposite problem: things are all connected but are stiff and need cleaning/regreasing. You might ask the original owner how long it's been since he used it. if it's over one year, cleaning and greasing would probably be a good idea

I asked the previous owner and he did not have any idea about the issue. I think maybe he has not used it for a while. I heard from another group member who said that it is likely that the clutch pads need to be cleaned or replaced so I am going to try that. That member also suggested that I replace the steel worm with a brass one as the PE should be better due to better brass worm gear. So I will give both of those a try and see if that resolves the problem.

HI Andy
that's a bummer.?
If you just bought it used, the first thing I'd do is ask the original owner.?
Maybe they did something or know something about the mount. It's always my first stop if i have problems with used gear

Hi, I recently purchased a well taken care of used G-11 mount with HD tripod. I attached the mount to the tripod, attached my modest scope, balanced the mount, powered up the system.
The mount will not slew in any direction. I have tightened the clutches, loosened the clutches, checked the power supply output, tried all different speeds, etc.
When I take removed the worm screw covers, it appears that either worm is not engaging the RA or DEC gear. The stepper motors are working and turning the worm, but obviously if worm not engaging the gears, nothing going on. Any suggestions?
