CAT control with Split problem
Has anyone here used CAT control (Kenwood protocol) with Split operation? I sometimes like to use the TX-500 in the shack and connect it to the DXLab Suite for rig control and logging. When working CW

Lab599 - Windows Defender showing "OpenCandy PUA" (for Windows users, suggest using highly recommended Sandboxing Utility) #firmware
Good Afternoon Fellow Hams! Chris here (KF6YSV) and I've been poking around here for a while, and finally got my Lab599. I've always been very security conscience, and have a suggestion of potential
Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
Maybe it's a delay in the audio chain. Some people have experienced audio chip failure (loss of audio). Perhaps this is a symptom of another audio chip problem, possibly being heat related. If it is

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
Hi Matt, I have never had any discernible delay between keying paddle and rig sending, and that's across a wide range of temperatures including with the rig getting very hot in the sun on a couple of

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
Evan, let me know if you'd be interested in selling one of your Kydex holders for the SP4.

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
As to the paddle and holding it, I think I'm going to make a kydex case that surrounds the exposed paddles so you can't inadvertently activate it.? I'll see if that helps.

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
i have the same paddle, and yes, you have to hold carefully... lots of contacts in the log with it and my tx500.... pls let us know if you keep experiencing this problem or find a resolution

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
No recent changes to settings. The SP4 paddle has exposed sides, and gripping it like I normally do with other paddles causes spurious jibberish to be sent. However this would not explain the delay in

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
have not experienced this w/my tx-500 or a number of keys... i usually use /p mflas, so swr is always low and rig stays relatively cool or warm, never hot... i will assume none of your CW settings

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
That's interesting.? I ran CW for about an hour last week during a POTA activation, and it was about 80F.? Same radio, same key, but I was using the speaker mic.? I didn't experience any issues.?

Wired earbuds going to the W2ENY adapter cables. No external speaker.

Re: Paddle delayed when radio is hot
Are you monitoring directly through the speaker-mic or an external powered speaker? The reason I ask is that I recently bought a small powered speaker made by Anker and this has a small, but annoying

Paddle delayed when radio is hot
Fellow TX-500 users: I've experienced a delay between paddle inputs and actual transmitted signal going out with a 3D printed paddle last summer. Thinking it was the paddle, I exchanged it with the

Re: Tune knob faulting
That is unlikely, since the problem only occurs when turning the VFO knob. I never do that when transmitting. I wonder if anyone has contacted Lab599 support and what they said. -- 73, Norm/KC1BMD

Re: Tune knob faulting
I have 2 TX-500's , an heir and a spare it only happens on one of them when I swap them

Re: Tune knob faulting
i wonder, considering the encoder jumping seems to be band(s)pecific, if the problem is RF? that would be a better situation...
