Re: Welcome Joasia Kubicka
开云体育Hi Stefan
My parents were married on 22 06 1935 in
Mo?odecznie (near Wilno). It was amazing after all their experiences to meet up
again in Anders' Army having both been deported to Siberia. I think as I was
born 9 month's after the end of the war, I must have been a celebration!! When I
got married in 1967 I needed my original birth certificate. When I asked the
British, I was told that my papers had sunk to the bottom of the English Channel
!!! No further details were forthcoming as to why my papers were all lost. At
least I do have a copy of my birth certificate. I did try to contact the British
record department some years ago and they were very rude and said that no
information could be released, I will try again.I have not tried the Polish
Catholic Mission.
Thank you for your help Stefan. By the way did you
get my email fore the Memorial wall ?
Regards Joasia

From Kazakstan to Space Hall of Fame
开云体育When Mr. Eugeniusz Lachocki(Sybirak) joined our
group, I was fascinated with his life story.I passed on his name, email and
names of his and his wife's?books to our
local Polish journalist who writes about Poles who have made incredible
accomplishments. He reads his articles on the weekly Polish radio.I have posted
his articleabout Mr. Lachocki?in our Kresy-siberia files.....however it is
in Polish and unfortunately I do not have time to translate it.For those who
read Polish you will be fascinated how our Sybirak, Mr. Lachocki got his name in
the "Space Walk of Fame."

Re: Land Deed from 1938
Hi there,
?
Thanks for the info, sadly my granfather Wladyslaw Golinski (15/08/1898) died?23/10/1939, I think he may have had land, I just don't know, I am trying to locate my two uncles, who are somewhere in the UK, my uncle Jozef Golinski (05/06/1924) was in the British Army, not sure what uncle Tadeusz (02/02/1928) did. I have never met them and would love to do so, the last time my mother saw them is almost 60 years ago. Can you imganie what a family reunion that would be if only I could? find them?
?
Kind regards
?

Hope I haven't missed too much
Hi Group,
I've been "away" for a while - reason: new ISP. This is my first shift to a new ISP and let me tell you that it's been nothing but one problem after another! As a relatively inept computer user I have found myself so frustrated at times that the temptation to toss my poor computer through the window has almost happened on more than one occasion! Many of my emails were "cannibalized", it would seem, and I was unable to send or receive. I think I have most of the difficulties ironed out now. To those of you who emailed me and received no response, I apologize. Anyway, I'm back and would like to say a special hello to the wonderful group from sw Ontario, along with Barbara in France, who had a wonderful get-together at Krysia's home in Kitchener earlier this summer. Now I have the enjoyable task of going back to read the messages I've missed so that I can catch up on all the news! Anne (in Corunna, sw ON, Canada) |

all, I've had this email from another Polish yahoo group saying that IThat's hogwash. I was born in Poland and heard a couple of years ago that I might need a Polish passport to go there. So I checked with the Polish consulate in Vancouver. Any Polish citizen who left Poland before 1970 has lost that citizenship. It's not too difficult to get back, apparently, but it does mean I can go there on my Canadian passport. If you weren't born there the same rule applies. Welcome Cheryl Masajada
Stefan Wisniowski
Please welcome Cheryl Masajada to the group.
Cheryl, you seem to have some information on the Masojada branch of your family: The list of Oudtshorn South Africa children has these names on it: 266 Masojada Bozena, born Jul 7,1930 in Torun w.Pomorze; parents: Edmund & Elzbieta See also our lists of evacuees from Russia, which also include some details on Elzbieta. ?This is located at http://www.aforgottenodyssey.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=PWlist&id=10_1_M1959_N0087 Stefan Wisniowski ---------- I came across your message board last night and I am very interested in learning more about it. The name that caught my eye was ?a message from Henry Sokolowski ?He has a list of Polish soldiers embarking for Canada Nov. 26, 1947. I am very interested in the information that he has on the name Masajada. I have been working very hard on my family tree which has the name Masajada in it. I have been able to go back to 1787 birth records in Poland with help of a cousin living in Poland. ?...The name Masajada seems to have alot of history behind it and I want to learn everything I can about the people connected to the name. |
