Re: using BAP with Easydigi modem and Yaesu FT-1500; Patron
Jason,
Does BAP rely on VOX to key a transmitter (at least in VHF FM)?? The configuration menu(s) have a section for PTT.? Does this send a signal to the USB port to key the transmitter?? If so, there probably is a way to do this.? I will continue to try to find people who have successfully implemented it with BAP and the FT-1500/FT-8900. I don't want to use a Signalink as it is too big for the physical package I am trying to build.?? Thanks,? Alan K6ZY |

Thanks for the reply Jason. I have the software installed and should have my gos dongle tomorrow. I figured that was why it showed an error where the grid square normally would¡¯ve be on conky.? Bryan,NU8J? On Mon, Jul 27, 2020 at 07:40 km4ack <jason.oleham@...> wrote: Hey Bryan, --

Re: using BAP with Easydigi modem and Yaesu FT-1500
Alan,
From a quick search, it doesn't look like that rig is supported by FLRIG or rigctl. You may have to go with a sound card like the Signalink that has a VOX circuit built in that can key the rig. There may be other options that a FT-1500 owner can point out that I am unaware of. -- 73, de KM4ACK

Re: Pi4 and Icom 7300
Hey Bryan,
This page has some help for 7300 owners. Scroll down to the section that reads "Can you help with radio X". There's a great How To for the 7300 written by another Patron. The grid will display in conky once the GPS has a lock provided you installed the GPS software. As a new Patron, please see this post -- 73, de KM4ACK

Connecting a pair of earphones I can hear what sounds like the proper packet tones.? I have been using the Pat Mailbox to try to connect.? I suspect I may be doing something completely wrong (using the wrong programs?). I have tried all the configurations of the PTT interface (e.g. use RTS, use DTR, etc.) that I can think of. Re: CHIRP not updating, BAP 3.0.2
Kevin: As I understand it, BAP can tell if some apps need an update, but not all of them.? If it can't it just says INSTALLED. But if you fire up an app and it says it has a newer version, you can update it with BAP by putting a check mark next to it.? That will do an unconditional update. -- =Gary Novosielski On Sun, Jul 26, 2020 at 4:27 PM nb7o <khedgepe@...> wrote: Good afternoon Jason, |
Re: CHIRP not updating, BAP 3.0.2
Good afternoon Jason,
I checked my version of Chirp.? It recently updated using the BAP menu option.? Chirp reports it is ver 20200718.? I do not receive an update message when I start chirp.? I ran BAP and was not offered to update Chirp (nor anything actually -? I am certain that all are up to date) I do notice an inconsistency in the report of app updates.? Some say that the app is installed and some say that the app is current.? Is there a way to provide a consistent message here? thanks for all that you are doing for Amateurs Kevin Hedgepeth/NB7O Hermiston, Oregon |

I have the pi4 running v3 of pi build. I am having issues trying to get the 7300 to communicate with the pi. I know it¡¯s a user error(id10t code)lol. Any help would be appreciated, any things to check kinda stuff. Also on a side note how can I get coney to display my maidenhead grid? ?

Opening CHIRP I get a message that a new version is available (20200718), and that I should update as soon as possible. The installed version is daily-20200710. Same thing on the 4gb Pi4, except that installed version is daily-20200711. Ran another update using BAP on the 2gb machine, no change.
