Re: using BAP with Easydigi modem and Yaesu FT-1500; Patron

Jason,

Does BAP rely on VOX to key a transmitter (at least in VHF FM)?? The configuration menu(s) have a section for PTT.? Does this send a signal to the USB port to key the transmitter?? If so, there probably is a way to do this.? I will continue to try to find people who have successfully implemented it with BAP and the FT-1500/FT-8900.

I don't want to use a Signalink as it is too big for the physical package I am trying to build.??

Thanks,? Alan K6ZY

Thanks for the reply Jason. I have the software installed and should have my gos dongle tomorrow. I figured that was why it showed an error where the grid square normally would¡¯ve be on conky.?

Re: using BAP with Easydigi modem and Yaesu FT-1500

Alan,

From a quick search, it doesn't look like that rig is supported by FLRIG or rigctl. You may have to go with a sound card like the Signalink that has a VOX circuit built in that can key the rig. There may be other options that a FT-1500 owner can point out that I am unaware of.

Re: CHIRP not updating, BAP 3.0.2

Kevin:

As I understand it, BAP can tell if some apps need an update, but not all of them.? If it can't it just says INSTALLED.

But if you fire up an app and it says it has a newer version, you can update it with BAP by putting a check mark next to it.? That will do an unconditional update.

Re: CHIRP not updating, BAP 3.0.2

Opening CHIRP I get a message that a new version is available (20200718), and that I should update as soon as possible. The installed version is daily-20200710. Same thing on the 4gb Pi4, except that installed version is daily-20200711. Ran another update using BAP on the 2gb machine, no change.

Off to church, I will check back in this afternoon.

Jerry,
Open Chrip, choose Help->About and verify that Chirp is/isn't the latest version. This will help me to try and pinpoint the issue. It could be that the latest version truly isn't installed or it could be that the portion of the script that checks what's installed against the latest available isn't working correctly. Still trying to replicate this issue on my pi.
