Lamarck col holds a high angle snowfield on the North lake side. ?When we went in Sept it was possible to climb around on large block talus. ?The descent to Darwin lakes is talus/sand and was dry when we went over. ?If you go the Lamarck way I think traction would be advisable. I would check trip reports closer to the time of your travel. ?It is a spectacular area and might be worth the extra weight. ?Travel in Darwin bench requires some talus travel along the lakes and is a bit slow and fatiguing
