Re: New Quadra-4 + USB dongle + WiFi
You should just be able to flash a micro-SD card (16GB or larger) with the HamIQ image using Balena Etcher, insert it into the Quadra, and plug in your monitor, keyboard, mouse and the power adapter.? It will boot directly into HamIQ.? Log in as user "pi" and password "raspberry".? That should at least get you to where you can start playing.

Re: CPU Overload
Both WSJT-X and GridTracker are CPU-hungry programs.
I'd recommend two things: 1. Try running "htop" instead of a window while running those two programs and see CPU load. 2. Try running without GridTracker. / Or email GridTracker authors and ask them to optimize their code to make it less CPU-hungry. -- -- Dave,?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Technical Specialist,??-- --?? CPU Overload
Mike Carletta
I run? a HamIQ ,G90 /FLrig/ Wsjt-X /Grid- Tracker combo that I really enjoy. (Thanks Dave and Mike !)
Problem is when Grid tracker kicks in my mouse freezes until I complete xmitt cycle. Power supply is supplied wall wart. 5vdc-2amp? (only interference I see is on 160 meters ) Any suggestions to improve? this problem? Better PS, powered USB Hub, more ram ?????

moving swap to sdcard
while I was working on something else
it popped into my mind that after things are all setup and running it may be wise to point swap to a sdcard to keep wear off the EMMC I have not seen them hit swap yet, but that doesnt mean they wont could one put /tmp & swap on a sdcard? I see swap is not explicitly mounted in fstab but /tmp is so is swap using /tmp ? could then have /tmp be on /dev/sda just thinking out loud de k9wkj

Re: wsjtx install trickery
On HamIQ, simple to roll back... There's a WSJT-X update script included in $HOME/bin From a terminal prompt, type: cd bin nano update_wsjtx_from_src Update these two variables (I know it looks confusing -- this happened with the new WSJT-X development team): DOWNLOAD_VERSION=2.5.4 DIRECTORY_VERSION=2.5.4 And also change this because there's not enough memory to support simultaneous 4 core builds: export MAKEFLAGS="-j 2" Then you can run that script and if the versions are good, you can? Re: wsjtx install trickery
hey Dave
yes running HamIQ and am having issues with WSJTX not keying Flrig consistantly (40-60% fail rate) using CM-108 GPIO keying JS8CALL and FLdigi work 100% so wanted to roll back to a stable release got it kind of bjorked up and am reimaging de k9wkj

Re: wsjtx install trickery
Not witchcraft... Technology! Are you using HamIQ? I can help with that. Even if you aren't using HamIQ, I can still help with that. Please advise, and 73, On Thu, Nov 17, 2022 at 12:10 PM K9WKJ <k9wkjham@...> wrote: what witchcraft was used to install?WSJT-X 2.6.0-rc4 ? --

wsjtx install trickery
what witchcraft was used to install?WSJT-X 2.6.0-rc4 ?
i wanted to roll back to 2.5 as I am having some wsjtx > Flrig keying issues so I removed rc4 and when trying to install 2.5 the familiar missing deps pops up guessing it was built by a portion of the BuildaPi script will see if I can wade into that de k9wkj

having USB connection troubles ?
unless you are using a braille display
# sudo apt remove brltty it seems to mess with trying to keep USB devices connected also have found the USB ports on the Quadra to be lacking in current handling capacity so advise using a powered hub de k9wkj

Re: Glad to be here
Hi Dave, I D/L'd the original img from Sourceforge a few days ago. I may be way behind the curve. I tried three times to install it and had no luck. I am going to purge the IQ and try again with the newest release that is D/L'ing now. I will report back in due course. Cheers and 73, Tryg

Don,
I have not messed with packet on this device yet should it not be trying to use Direwolf?? as you would need a direwolf.conf setup up as the modem I managed to get all my Xssh forwarding all fouled up so am starting over from the top while still building out my new fancy interface box de k9wkj

I did pat configure right from the beginning FLrig does talk to the radio. However, it does not talk to programs like JS8Call using FLrig FLrig. Re: cant find ardop executable
your on the right path Don
but you would still need to run the config tool? "pat config" to edit the file I have not had a chance to that yet as I am just emerging from serial hell had a USB to serial thingy go intermittent so am building a whole new interface to use FLrig for CM-108 PTT as i finally got WSJTX to speak FLrig de k9wkj
