I dont have a thumb drive or SD card large enough
so I thought to plop the image right onto a 120G SATA SSD drive but whether I xzcat? and dd the image onto the drive or if I blowup the xz and restore the image to the drive I get the same "no bootable OS found" error when looking at the drive after flashing I get the primary GPT image corrupt but backup is okay message in GParted and I let it fix it, but no joy I saw the doings using VirtualBox but I have no desire to go down that rabbit hole any progress? de k9wkj |
开云体育I had similar issues.? I did try the SSD image idea and had the
same problem.? We just need something like a bootable Linux distro
that will boot to some other laptops.? Mine isn't super old, but I
guess it's older than I thought since I can't boot to HamPC
either. Still loving the HamPi and playing with the new Quadra version. I
haven't hooked up a radio yet to check for the noise issue from
the power supply yet. Tom On 11/19/22 11:36, k9wkj wrote:

This is an open-source project, and I would welcome help in the areas that I am not as strong with as other people... On Sat, Nov 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM Tom Gwilym <tegwilym@...> wrote:

开云体育I'm not super strong with making Linux images either, but I'll be
happy to test out stuff.?? Again, thanks for all your excellent work on all your HamPi/PC/Quadra stuff Dave.? Everything is always beta, but that's just the spirit of Ham radio anyways!??? :-)

Have you tried using the testdisk command to fix the GPT (like described in the VirtualBox post previously)? Is your computer EFI-enabled? Maybe you need to reconfigure EFI because it cannot automatically find the new bootable drive? Try finding a way to bring up the EFI/BIOS bootmenu. Some screens or screen recording would be useful to narrow down what can be the problem.

开云体育The EFI part is what mine seems to be missing.? I've looked all
over in the BIOS and don't find it. On 11/19/22 12:11, Pawel J via

yup the computer supports EFI
infact it has Bullseye running on it but have been having a fight with WSJTX and the sound system so since I wanted to give HamPc a workout I went down the SSD path right now I am going to slap Xubuntu 22.10 on it and see if WSJTX will complain about the most current OS available |
