I'm not super strong with making Linux images either, but I'll be
happy to test out stuff.??
Again, thanks for all your excellent work on all your
HamPi/PC/Quadra stuff Dave.? Everything is always beta, but that's
just the spirit of Ham radio anyways!??? :-)

This is an open-source project, and I would welcome
help in the areas that I am not as strong with as other
people...

I had similar issues.? I did try the SSD image idea and
had the same problem.? We just need something like a
bootable Linux distro that will boot to some other
laptops.? Mine isn't super old, but I guess it's older
than I thought since I can't boot to HamPC either.
Still loving the HamPi and playing with the new Quadra
version. I haven't hooked up a radio yet to check for the
noise issue from the power supply yet.

I dont have a thumb drive or SD
card large enough
so I thought to plop the image right onto a 120G SATA SSD
drive
but whether I xzcat? and dd the image onto the drive
or if I blowup the xz and restore the image to the drive
I get the same "no bootable OS found" error
when looking at the drive after flashing I get the primary
GPT image corrupt but backup is okay message in GParted
and I let it fix it, but no joy
I saw the doings using VirtualBox but I have no desire to
go down that rabbit hole
any progress?
