Is there enough room for an adapter plate? Is because the balls were missing in the old one?
If you remove the rear adjustment screw, (if it has one ) you may be able to replace the balls

I've seen this done with a rubber or vinyl hose as a coupler also.

They start regardless if we're still there on 3950 or not. 99% of the time we're gone at 8am but once in a while we need an additional 30 seconds to finish something. That happened this morning. Those guys didn't care and started at 3952 so they QRMed us on 3950 We only?needed an additional 30 fuckin' seconds! And get this, it's some fuckin' prayer net. So they're all into prayer and god but still purposely QRM others. BTW as you know, it's against?FCC rules! I sent the net control an email (not the first time BTW). Here's a copy of it... ??Good morning Bruce, Mark, I'm from the group on 3950. I was wondering why you guys can't give us just 30 seconds for us to finish something? You guys seem to start at 12:00Z regardless if it will QRM anyone. Why? 99% of the time we make sure we vacate 3950 at 12:00Z/8:00am eastern but once in a while we need a few extra seconds. Do you have room for a couple of these with a small 1/4 shaft connecting 2 back to back? From Amazon. There are several different styles available. Search under motor drive couplings Ian N6UH On Thu, Apr 4, 2024 at 10:52?AM W7WRX <clark@...> wrote:

Should be enough room in the final cage for a switch and a couple of caps. I'll keep my eyes open for that air variable load cap.? ?73 dave On Thu, Apr 4, 2024 at 10:52?AM W7WRX <clark@...> wrote:

开云体育Good Morning,
Thought I would add my 2 cents worth...
Since it looks like there is a shaft
extender on the cap, that does give you a little bit of room to
work with.
If it were me, I would look for a
solution using some small nylon gears. If you use 2 gears, you are
right, the cap will work backwards. If, you add an idler gear
between the gears (3 gear solution), the cap will rotate in the
correct direction. Use the gears with the same number of teeth on
the front panel shaft and the capacitor shaft to keep the rotation
the same. The number of teeth on the idler gear doesn't matter as
long as the mesh with the other gears is good.
Also, on rebuilding the original cap. A
few years back, I picked up a ball-bearing assortment to use if I
ever needed to repair an existing cap (probably from Amazon).
Fortunately, this was not necessary for me, so I can't comment on
the success potential.

I thought of gears and that was my first attempt.? Problem is, There is NO source for???inch bore gears.? I have searched for hours.? All websites.? The only ones I found are at McMaster Carr and they have the wrong bore and are $30!! each.? I would need to

There is probably something I can find and repurpose for a reasonable price. I am still looking.

NO???inch.? They would have to be machined out.? Also NO double joints. So I would have to run two back-to-back to make the JOG. Remember, the shaft is 1 inch DOWN and about an inch OVER.? If I had those in hand I might be able to make something work tho!
