Re: Identify transformer
I am not really interested in further characteristics of the transformer or building anything with it. I would like to know what radio it was used in so I can make it available to someone who needs

Re: Identify transformer
Yes Walt I consider the turns ratio to be a primary characteristic of any transformer, but voltage ratio is usually much the same.. assuming I was guessing that you just measured it and have it

Identify transformer
Still cleaning out cabinets. I have a transformer and cannot remember what it goes to. It has a Hallicrafters part # 050-004270. It has another number that may be a manufacturer's in-house part # or

In the drawing, B+ entered T5 thru the bottom of the primary and out top of the winding to supply B+ to the 6R7 plate and everything else. A couple of you here suggested troubleshooting tries
Re: A Hallicrafters question (audio amp) !
There is any one with a Hallicrafters A-84 ? This was my first Hi-Fi amplifier when I was 16, and always wished to listen to a pair. Only 10W with a pair of class A biased, triode-connected KT66s

Re: Non-Hallicrafters question (audio amp)
Hi Richard, A Citation II ! This is a special amplifier: video pentodes used as input + drivers, with multiple feedback loops. I have one that waits to be ¡°restored¡±. See attached. 73,
Re: Non-Hallicrafters question (audio amp)
Its been a while but I believe it was a Citation II. Also had several Dynakit 50 Watt amps. Had to get rid of them all. I miss the theater speakers. They were c.1936 RCA Shearer horns from a

Re: Non-Hallicrafters question (audio amp)
You are right and my memory is bad. It is the KT-66 that is the equivalent to the 5881. The 6550 is the KT88. Both tubes are intended for Ultra-Linear or McIntosh amps where the screens must have

Re: Non-Hallicrafters question (audio amp)
Hi Richard, Just curious: was your HK amp a Citation II model ? Just a remark also: this is the second time I see the 5881 tube referred as the US equivalent of the KT88, or the reverse,

Re: Non-Hallicrafters question (audio amp)
I don't know how quickly the B+ comes up in the amplifier. I had an HK amp for years (used on a pair of RCA theater speakers). The KT88/5881 is designed for the Ultra-Linear circuit where the

Richard, Yes it is unclear. As I said .. it seemed not to be the PT .. from long ago tests. It did seem to be around the top of T5 [ 6R7 plate side] but then the noise trail was lost . In my
