Those that have more experience with testing these points in the SX100 or any other radio that normally uses a VTVM to check DC voltage.....can I do this with my oscilloscope? My probe is a 1x & 10x.

Re: SR2000 load cap
I¡¯m with Tom. Use shorter shafts at both ends and use a flex coupler.
Re: SR2000 load cap
Is there enough room for an adapter plate? Is because the balls were missing in the old one? If you remove the rear adjustment screw, (if it has one ) you may be able to replace the balls
Re: SR2000 load cap

Hmm.. I honestly do not know. It does not appear to be cracked. Although that is a very common failure of trimmers. FT101 for example. If not adjusted in many years, They will crack when someone

Re: SR2K Chirp
The chirp is only for a nano second... it is not a oscillation as you described. It's a blip chirp, haha. I was able to adjust the PIN 3 bias voltage down to factory specs by increasing the resistance

Re: SR2K Chirp
On My rig if you turned the load knob it would vary the chirp. It was worse when the plates made contact. Did you try to loosen the mounting screws while listing to the chirp? Yes. The plates are

I agree and bet that the issues are indeed related, but I would stick with the designed values on the parts list and schematic.

Re: SR2K Chirp
yes. The plates are shorting. This radio was shorting on the back section. About 2 to 3 plates in. I could set it so the rig was oscillating, then, using a plastic tool, spread the plates and noise

Just an observation from my experience with Collins S/Line gear. It seems that over time, the ceramic trimmers seize and fail to turn without exerting a high twisting force. With enough twisting

There are two main causes for the ceramic variables failures. Long time storage in humid conditions and improper chassis cleaning methods. ________________________________ Sent: Wednesday, April 3,
