Re: SX-100 Repair Problems - no filament voltage
All the caps have been replaced. Applied power today and have great voltages coming out of the filter cap. Actually right at spec which was nice to see. Have a brand new 5y3 rectifier tube in place.

HT-32B; VOX relay; possibly bad?
Hello to All, I'm continuing to work on a HT-32B, that had previously been set aside as, a parts rig.? I suspect I may have a bad VOX relay. I've checked the resistance on the coil and it's showing

Re: ProgRock crystal substitutes
Hi Floyd, I have one in my IC-751A now, but haven't tried it in a tube rig yet.? I don't expect the squarish wave to be a problem.? Crystal oscillators typically generate plenty of harmonics, so

Re: SX-100 Repair Problems - Bumblebees!
Hi Richard, Not a crack: just a mold seam. But they all leaks heavily when tested. The PIO failure mechanism is that the impregnation oil absorbs the ambient oxygen. A very slow process, indeed, but

Re: ProgRock crystal substitutes
There is an article in the latest ER mag about using this part in a Heathkit. Looks very interesting. I too was wondering about the square wave output as sq waves can generate a lot of noise /

ProgRock crystal substitutes
I wonder if anyone has used a ProgRock "crystal" in any of their Hallicrafters receivers?? The current units are similar in size to a real crystal in? HC-6 holder.? They generate square waves, but

SX-117 10 meter crystal problem

Re: HT-44 VOX issue
An update on my HT-44 VOX delay issue: I raised R2 to 163k in an effort to remove the blip that had appeared on the CAR oscillator onset in VOX mode. That worked, but the key-down to full RF delay was
