I¡¯ll bet someone on here has a grandkid with a 3D Printer that would enjoy cranking out a few gears!

I don't remember, and can not find It written down, what is the capacitance range of each section?

I have kind of lost track on this topic, but if you have not found an exact replacement, try some of the Collins sources. They used the exact same part.

There is no room to move the cap to line up. It would stick out of the PA cabinet.? ?Any lower and it his the Tune cap. Its really tight in there Walt.? I will figure something out!? We must save this thing.

Have you looked at the possibility of moving the mounting holes of the U bracket the capacitor is mounted. Or making a new bracket to align the shafts.

That might work Don.

How about a piece of 1/2 plastic rod, drill a 1/4" hole down the middle, slice off a couple sections and sleeve them on to the two shafts. Then run an O ring as a belt like Heathkit did on the HW 101?

NO???inch.? They would have to be machined out.? Also NO double joints. So I would have to run two back-to-back to make the JOG. Remember, the shaft is 1 inch DOWN and about an inch OVER.? If I had those in hand I might be able to make something work tho!

How about these? You would still need your insulated coupling in the string.?

Hamfest season is coming!? Maybe with luck someone has what you need.? An alternative would?be to take a page from the ALPHA78 design and install a few fixed variable caps for a couple of your favorite bands and mount the switch for those on the load control shaft until you find the exact replacement cap.? Should be enough room in the final cage for a switch and a couple of caps. I'll keep my eyes open for that air variable load cap.? ?73 dave

I went down that road. Can't find one online. I would need a double joint 1/4 inch.? That might be possible if I could find some parts.

Possibly a flexible coupling shaft or maybe you can rig up a shaft with a universal joint in it?

I am now three caps in.? None fit.? This one fits but shafts do not line up.? This must have Been a custom order cap for hallicrafters.??

Anyone got any ideas now?? Looking for a cap is officially over.? Now unfortunately we must modify the radio.

If I use gears, knob rotation will be backwards.?
