With several of us talking to the HP offices? all over the would? I personally spoke to HP UK on the subject

So there is no problems with what we are presently doing also HP did come to us for help with providing the manuals they were missing in PDF format

Do NOT worry -
I believe HP has issued a blanket permission on most ot their CLIPS.

Hi XU and Eman

?

Thank you Eman for reminding me that Xu makes the excellent replacement LCD displays? for HP equipment and has been a member of this group for a time

?

But the copy right issue keeps rising its head and just confuses all that do not have the back ground to the hard work that went into sorting it out

?

Best regards

Thanks, Paul, for the background information. I joined the Yahoo group in 2009, so I wouldn't know about what happend 15 years ago in the group.

The topic has been brought up a couple of times in here and also in the Tek group. That's how I came to know that a license exist for distributing manuals of obsolete HP test equipment. At one time I even wanted to apply for one, so that I can make avaiable some of the CLIPs that I scanned and couldn't find elsewhere online. But I didn't follow through. I still think it would be wise to 'stay on the safe side'.

The very CLIP that Milan talked about here (E4400-90336), I bought a pdf copy online in 2019 for not much money, and used it to fix my E4436B. The scan quality isn't as good as the earliver version E4400-90015 I scanned myself, but was good enough and didn't take any guesswork to read. The pdf files were dated 2018 so there may be other copies sold before mine.

Corrections: The 2019 date was when I OCR'd and bookmarked the files. The purchase date was in 2018 and the files were scanned in 2011.

Hi Xu

?

OK about when you joined I believe the issues regarding the Copy right issues with HP was dealt with before I and most changed to this group IO in 2005 from the previews group ( I believe this group started in about Sep 2003 )

Regarding ?“ license exist for distributing manuals” that is new to me is that for Tek or HP ??

Regarding Tek going back to about 1990 I was dealing with a test equipment repair man in the UK that had a document from Tek basically saying they had no problem with him copying there service information

?

Just one question while we are talking? Did you design the LCD upgrade unites for the HP equipment or is there a team of you designing and making them ?

?

Best Regards Paul

Hi Paul,
I was talking about license to reproduce and distribute HP manuals. If there is some correspondence from HP that grants the permission to the public to do so, like in the case with Tek, it would be very helpful to let everyone know so there would be absolutely no concerns.
I'm the only engineer here at SIMMCONN LABS, also the only sales, marketing, buyer, planner, facility guy and janitor.

Hi Xu?

That makes you the king pin as you have dun a marvellous job with extending the life of HP equipment?
regarding old corespondents I think we may be missing those but if i find any think i will post it?
within Catalogues on this site is a file called?A New scope could I ask you to look at it and upload any missing documented?
advise me on any mistakes and also passably a word document explaining the history of your products?

Best Regards Paul?

Hello Xu

I have an E4422B with an issue on the A9 output board.
I’m interested in the CLIP document you mentioned. Please let me know the price, I’d appreciate it.
I tried contacting Milan, but I didn’t get a response.

Thanks
Santiago

Interesting topic!
I already answered here before, and got my version of the CLIP, but I just realizing that there is multiple CLIP version If I understand correctly.
Would be amazing to have better version of this to be honest.
?
Also, I realized that Agilent had schematics also for the "C" revision of the instruments (PN E4438C-0BV according to this: )
Also, according to this: ?PN: E8251-90032 is the CLIP package for early PSG generator? (They use similar hardware than ESG in part)
?
Would be amazing to finally found and make "public" or sell this manual, as they would be usefully as I begin to see this high end ESG and PSG units on ebay recently.
Alberto
?

I'd be interested in (paying for) any CLIP files for the E4433B and also the E4438C especially if the E4438C CLIP includes the options for low phase noise and high output power.
?
I don't know how much these CLIP files cost though. If the price is good I've also got an old ESGD4000A sig gen (E4433A?) if there is a CLIP for this.
?
?

Alberto,
?
So, do you know if the CLIP document you have is useful for the E4422B or at least for the E4400-90141 module?
If so, could you contact this email santi.zygadlo@... to reach an agreement on the price

Thanks?
Santiago

Hello everyone,
Everyone who purchased the clip E4400-90336 from me (CLIP content attached) was kindly asked to use it for their own private use and not distribute it...which is why I archived it to wait for better days.

I see your point!?
I was in possession?for like 10 years of the original schematics from CAD (so no scan and bad quality this time) of the tektronix TDS540 scope that I received directly?from tektronix?after asking gently.
I never shared it until the official version was published exactly?for the same reason as you!
Now the published version is available?so I should upload them somewhere, I don't really know because I was told to not share them too If I recall correctly.
