Hello,
After a long period of non use of my MMS 70k I decided to use it again to measure some NF with the 70875A DLP software.
A new calibration of the spectrum was done OK.
I loaded the 70875A DLP software and after some manipulation I realized I could not use anymore the software.
Don't know what I did but impossible to return to the spectrum functionalities.
When I try to preset the instrument (green button) or the Menu function I got USERLOCK ON and impossible anymore to use the instrument.
How to go to the USERLOCK OFF back again and/or to reset the instrument?
I'm really stucked on this situation with the impossibility to use it again.

Hi JF,
I could USERLOCK OFF with my HP computer using your method.
I've tried to load again the 70875A DLP loaded into my 70900B and
faced out to the same USERLOCK ON !
I guess the program is corrupted (ERR2001), tomorrow I'll try to
reload it with my original personality module.
May be due to the 70900B battery which could be out of gas .
Will see.

Hi JF & the Gang,
After reloading a fresh DLP NF 70875A from my original ROM
personality module I got the same error ERR 2001 and entered once
again into the USERLOCK ON dead lock.
I was again obliged to send the USERLOCK OFF over the HPIB bus and
the analyzer function started to work fine back after a CAL ALL .
So I suspect a battery out of gas within the 70900B (but not sure
...), could someone let me know the type of battery I will have to
purchase ?

And I measured the effective retention voltage on the vdd of the TC551001CF-70L memories, it's at 2.864v , the datasheet says it should be at 2v minimum to keep up the data, so definitively it's not a battery problem, probably a faulty memory. Just an assumption.
A memory test would be a good solution to identify if it's such a problem or something else.

1. Are you sure the program did run once or is it the first time you try to run this DLP into this 70900B CPU (coming from an OSA) ?
2. There is no way to test the internal memory
3. Try to erase all the progs in memory : do not use "erase" but "purge" with every name in the DLP catalog (read text under PERASE, PURGE and ERASE commands in the prog manual)
4. Compatibility of this DLP with the OSA 70900 board ??? Try another "normal" board

1) Yes, it was running during many years !
2) Too bad ...
3) I'll re-install the CPU+Mem? boards and as I unplugged the
Memory board from the CPU where the battery is located I'm sure
the old programs are gone.
4) Not necessary it worked for years, this isn't a compatibility
of the DLP with the last OSA firmware.
If really needed I could reinstall the old PROMS as I installed
PLCC sockets several years ago with the new firmware.
I would like to avoid to do this because time consuming.
5) As I discovered this problem with the already loaded DLP since
years and then with a fresh load (this morning) from the original
personality I'm pretty sure than the DLP isn't faulty.
For the moment I would suspect a faulty RAM, will continue to
investigate.

PROBLEM SOLVED !
After the memory card was unplugged from the CPU card which has retention the battery and then plugged again the problem disappeared.
Conclusion the ERASE ALL of the analyzer doesn't clear properly the internal memory, the only way to do a real clear is to disassemble the memory card from the CPU board of the 70900B.
I presume also for the A version.

Notes for? MMS And in there is an
XL sheet for? 2 of the key boards I did last year and a few more bits
of handy information

The folder 70000 MMS had a very
comprehensive catalogue that is worth printed out and binding ??unfortunately it
is missing 2 pages but the catalogue is a mine of information
?

After the memory card was unplugged from the CPU card which has retention the
