Re: HP 427A no DC offset adj. pot
Leon I did look at the other site great pix and thats a nice looking meter. Normally gov stuff is pretty beat up. Suggestion. If the meter is off as little as you say does it make sense to simply use

Re: HP8560a smoke came out
If you are in 230V country sure I would bet on explosion of RIFA caps in the power supply. Not difficult to repair it, just power supply board needs to be removed from SA. Whe you are in, check also

Re: HP8560a smoke came out
Don't know that exact model, but could it be mains power I/P filter / Rifa line filter caps?

HP8560a smoke came out
New member here. I have an HP 8560A? SA which had been in storage for some years. On powering it up recently it worked ok for about 10 minutes, then a loud bang and smoke came out........ not good.

Re: HP 427A no DC offset adj. pot
I¡¯d like to think so Paul. It sure would be nice to have a copy of the appropriate manual though to remove doubt. I also posed this question over on antique radios.com with some photos of the A2

Re: HP-1421A Q109 Voltages
The 1821A is very similar for the reset lamp circuit, the voltages are negative on the base, picture below is from the repair of my 1821A, the lamp had failed in that one. David

Re: HP-1421A Q109 Voltages
Copy/paste didn't work. HP 1821 has almost the same circuit. Ozan ===

Re: HP-1421A Q109 Voltages
HP has almost the same exact circuit with -8.5V in one state (lamp is on) and -11.4V (lamp is off) in another state. Looking at 1421 schematic, few voltages look like typos. Ozan

Re: HP-1421A Q109 Voltages
That's what I kept thinking - especially since everything else that's connected to the base is negative. Could that be a typo? Barry - N4BUQ

Re: HP-1421A Q109 Voltages
-8.8V seems much more plausible, with the emitter -9.4V Hugh Gilbert

Re: HP-1421A Q109 Voltages
Chuck, Thank you so much for that. I couldn't tell if that was a + or a - in front of the base voltage but that shows it clearly as +. Thanks again, Barry - N4BUQ

HP-1421A Q109 Voltages
Does anyone have a readable schematic for the A101 board in a 1421A? I have a paper manual on order but until that arrives, I would appreciate finding out the voltages shown for Q109 (Page 5-16,

Re: HP 427A no DC offset adj. pot
Is it possible that the unit is late enough that its using a 0 offset opamp and wouldn't need that pot? I did look at the online schematic and do see what your talking about. But maybe they were not

Re: 85719A Noise Figure Measurements Personality for HP8595A
Hi You are correct-this analyzer must have hardware option 119(noise fgure) for use with 85719A.Its not difficult to transfer this program via gpib. Regarding the expensive ram cards used for this
