Don't know that exact model, but could it be mains power I/P filter
/ Rifa line filter caps?

I have an HP 8560A? SA which had been in storage for some years.
On powering it up recently it worked ok for about 10 minutes, then
a loud bang and smoke came out........ not good.
After looking over the boards on each side that can be easily
opened out, I checked carefully for any obvious damage and found
nothing.? Basically, looking for blown caps and/or IC's.
When powering up initially it showed errors 301 and 317.? It went
through the initial alignment on power up ok.
?Later, I powered up again and it went through the initial
alignment on power up ok, again.
Feeding the CAL signal in (300MHz -10dBm) it shows correct 289MHz,
but level is 26dBm. Note it doesn't show -26dBm.??No error
messages shown.
From what I can tell, these relate to something more internal than
can easily be got at.? ? Looking for ideas on the problem maybe, I
am guessing? a blown Capacitor or similar.
Open to ideas and especially how you get to the internal workings
of this SA.? ie from which side should one work to get in there
and any hints or pictures on how to do so.
