Re: HP853A+8559A spectrum analyzer.
On the top left of the 8559A plugin there is a small circuit card that makes contact with 2 fingers on the top guide rail on the 853A. Remove the top-sides cover of the 853A so that you can see the

Re: HP3456A GPIB problem

Re: HP3456A GPIB problem
Any chance that one might be set as a Talker only? I'm not familiar with that specific meter, but sometimes there's a setting, either a DIP switch or something from the front panel, that makes it

I think I would spend most of my time seeing what kind of crude and tasteless words I could make on that thing.

Re: HP853A+8559A spectrum analyzer.
Hi Dave,

Re: HP853A+8559A spectrum analyzer.

Re: An Interesting find: HP Strobeline Demonstrator
I just wanted to provide a quick update on this. The first NOS switch I got off of eBay was oxidized inside and didn't work right either. I found a "used" one in Canada, also off of eBay, and I

Hello Alwyn,
You make some very good points. Decades ago a good friend of mine went to the Gathersburg Maryland USA HP office off of Shady Grove Road to review and look at the then new HP1740A 100MHz

Re: Tool to remove "fancy" BNC nut (0590-1251)
Agilent mentions? part? 0590-1251? as ... 15/32-32 hex nut, in several manuals.
The tool they say to use is a "socket wrench and 9/16-inch deep socket"
