Hello Rob, thanks for the quick answer! I want to use the 8601 for alignment of broadcast type radios. However, I must admit that I, in theory, know how to to just that but am still not relly clear

Re: HP8601A Generator/Sweeper
Hi there, I've had an HP8601A for about 5 years. It worked perfectly when I got it, and it still does. It's a very nice instrument, and very useful for all manner of things, particularly filter

Hi group: I have an HP 8559A spectrum analyzer (in the 853A display frame). It appears to work well, however, any signal appears at the same relative display location in every range (and I can't

Hi Jorgen, Many thanks for the reply. Fortunately it turned out to be the input capacitor and not the diodes. It took several days to find an allen key small enough to get the probe apart. It

Just as a data point, I checked my 436A with 8482A sensor (http://www.tucker.com/images/images_spec/00000289.pdf) and found that it tracked my 8640B accurately between -30 and +20 dBm (to within a

Re: HP 436A
Mike, I think that your dynamic range is dependent upon the sensor used. So, if your sensor a 8481A it goes from +20 to -30 then there you go. Most sensors have the 50db range(8482H 45db range).

Mike, Before you go and try and repair the power meter try and do a full re-alignment on it. I have found that if you are not getting good readings at the low end that re-aligning the 436A will
