I, too, have signed up with some groups using "plus" addresses, mostly for testing purposes. I haven't tested the plus addresses from a non-Gmail source, but when I try to send mails to Groups.io

Andy, Groups.io has no such structure. One account = one subscribed address. The Email Aliases in Groups.io accounts are for posting messages from alternate email addresses. They cannot be subscribed
