I tried to put it into the source-code of wiki, that didn't work ...
The wiki (and message) editor strips many HTML tags when saving the page, that may be one of them. This is primarily done to exclude HTML constructs that may be exploited by scammers. I don't know why meta specifically would be stripped, that's something you'd have to as in beta (as a suggestion that it be allowed). When beta is open for suggestions again.
