Re: Verifications.io
SIRMick,
Is verifications.io connected to groups.io ...It is a common misconception that groups.io might be related to something else .io - but in fact that's akin to wondering if yahoogroups.com is related to any other .com company. The only connection is that they lease their domain name from the same Top Level Domain (TLD) registrar. In the case of .io that's a British company operating on behalf of the British Indian Ocean Territory - the io in .io stands for "Indian Ocean", though the similarity to the computer term I/O (Input/Output) is undoubtedly what inspires many of those who choose it. Odd! This seems not to exist.?
However if you upload a new file, you can notify members. Shouldn't that be an option when you create or add to a photo album? Frances -- /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki /static/help More help: use the search button at the top of the Messages list. |
Automatic add in subgroups via IFTTT style triggers
#addmembers
Hi,
Newbie is here. Is there any way I can automate the adds into the appropriate subgroups when people signup to my organization through a web form. For example, my website will have a form to signup for Sports League. Then depends on what checkboxes people indicated, I would like to automate the subscriptions into the subgroups of Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, etc. Thanks, -Bumble |
Groups.io site updates
#changelog
Hi all,
This week's change log: Feel free to reply to this topic if you'd like to comment on the changes. Or better yet, if you expect a lot of discussion start a new topic (or rejoin an existing one) about a specific change. NEW: New /feed page for testing. Kind of a list of activity summaries, organized by group. Distinct from the groups.io home page, which has a list of one's groups, or the /topics page which shows messages from all of your subscriptions in a single list. /topics CHANGE: Wording change in bounce probe message. Thanks Samuel, assuming you reported it to support: /g/GroupManagersForum/topic/30282958 BUGFIX: 'Save and send to group' didn't work for a moderator editing aOh! So the bug was in a subgroup. No one guessed it would be subgroup versus primary group that made the difference. /g/GroupManagersForum/topic/30291652 Comments about these are welcome: SYSADMIN: Switched to using our own DNS resolver/cache because Please call out any you find significant. Su,
My confusion is from the fact that un-approved members are listed asIf you have un-approved members then your group must be set to Restricted Membership. In which case the button on your group's home page should read "Apply For Membership in This Group", not "Join the Group". Does this mean that they can already view the message archives, butIt is the latter. In particular I believe that pending members have the same access as public (non-members). However, your question suggests that the date column on that list ought to have the heading "Applied" not "Joined". My group has it's settings set to "?Archives are visible to subscribers only."
My confusion is from the fact that un-approved members are listed as having "joined" on the dates that they pressed the "+Join the group" button. Does this mean that they can already view the message archives, but cannot post? Or is a member only able to view them after being approved? I have assumed it is the latter. Hope I'm right. Thanks, Su |
Re: PDF files as attachements
You should be able to attach any type of file, with the possible exception of exe or other executables.? When reading online, there will be a link for it.? We're not sure exactly where it is stored and there doesn't seem to be another way to get to them.
