Re: Renewal Payment Plan

Duane, I did not get such an email from groups.io. My renewal date is October 21, so 30 days-prior has passed by a week.

I expect many folks upgraded by October 21 as that was the Premium price increase date.

You should get an email 30 days before it expires, then renewal should be automatic unless you remove your payment method (card).

Also, what happens if the card number has changed in the interim?

Re: Calendar showing wrong event time

This is helpful. I have found a slightly different problem:

I am in the pacific time zone.
I have my time zone at the bottom set to pacific.
I set an event for 10:00 mountain time in the US.
On the calendar the time shows correctly for me as 09:00.
The problem is that the time zone shows as mountain rather than pacific.

When I open the event, all appears correctly as 10:00 mountain.

Re: Moderator can create new hashtag without permission redux #hashtags

Note that the setting says "from Members." It says nothing about Moderators/Owners.

  1. None of my co-moderators has the "create or modify hashtags" privilege.?
  2. When a moderator sends a message with an existing hashtag (e.g. "#curbalert") that has additional characters added at the end (e.g. "#curbalert-"), the message goes right through and "#curbalert1" gets added to our list of hashtags.
I agree that this behavior is counter-intuitive, and bypasses the intent of the Moderator permission.

  1. This does not happen if a member does the same thing.
Well, at least that's working as expected.

This is a bug, no?
I think so. But what is the proper fix?

I think what you're asking for is to disallow creation of hashtags by email for those Moderators who don't have the "create or modify hashtags" privilege if the group setting does not allow it for Members.

Sensible, but I offer this?suggestion as perhaps less convoluted: If the group setting does not allow creating new hashtags by email, disallow it for everybody. The setting thus becomes "Messages from members can only contain existing hashtags." Those who need to create a hashtag and have sufficient privileges can still do so using the web interface.

Bruce

Re: Moderator can create new hashtag without permission redux #hashtags

Sorry for not being clear. I have a second GIO account that I use for testing. It's subscribed to the group I'm referring to, and it is set up as a moderator (not owner)?without hashtag privileges as shown in the attached screencap.

You mentioned your test account; did you mean test membership? Or perhaps a separate test group? What is your exact Role in the "account" you used. If an Owner then you cannot take away or suspend any of the Permissions. OK; if your test configuration has you as a Moderator then you can indeed deny yourself the permission to add or modify hashtags.

I ask because IME it is all too easy to overlook some small point and inadvertently misinterpret the results of any tests.

Having said that then subject to the above it does look a bit like a bug. :)

Moderator can create new hashtag without permission redux #hashtags

I posted this on the beta group () but after some investigation I'm revisiting it here?before I report it again as a bug.

  1. My group is set up so that messages from members can only contain existing hashtags.
  2. None of my co-moderators has the "create or modify hashtags" privilege.?
  3. When a moderator sends a message with an existing hashtag (e.g. "#curbalert") that has additional characters added at the end (e.g. "#curbalert-"), the message goes right through and "#curbalert1" gets added to our list of hashtags.
  4. This does not happen if a member does the same thing.
I used my test account to confirm this, changing "#test_tag" (existing tag) to "test_tag1" (not an existing tag) in the subject line. This is the result in the activity log:

Peter C test account <pxxxxxxxx@...> sent message #63710, test message via email 10:28am
Peter C test account <pxxxxxxxx@...> added hashtag test_tag1 via email 10:28am

This is a bug, no?

Pete

Jud,

Mark acknowledged the bug, ran a FT index on files. My testing
confirmed that things now work as expected.
Yup. Saw that.

BTW - PDF documents created directly from word processing (as opposed
to made from a scanned document) ...
I wasn't talking about scans or other forms of image content. But that's not relevant now since Groups.io's search engine is apparently capable of dealing with PDF file compression.

And make sure your text values are wrapped in double quotes.? Tab delimited is not enough, the value need to be surrounded with quotes.

Thanks for posting that. "Non - Intuitive" IMHO.

Enterprise Group name links to calendar?

I just noticed this so forgive me if this is a change that I just didn¡¯t see before. We have a few groups linked to our enterprise group name and in the past on mobile if I click the name of the enterprise I can see a list of all groups under that name. Today when I click the name it¡¯s taking me to a calendar. ?

Is this a mistake? A only on my group? A permanent change?

Thanks,
rachel?

Re: Poll question

The answer is.... you must give the moderator permission to "Edit Archives" then they can see the results of a poll that only allow moderators and owners to see the results.

Case closed...

Re: Poll question

Yes the messages are public. I just created a new member with Moderator privileges and that user can not see the poll results as my other moderators are reporting.
There must be a setting i am missing. Would like to share the results of the poll with my moderators.
