Re: How To Make i.o. Cover Photo Banner Sized
Hi
I found simple instructions on this page - if you are using a Mac and don't have special image software. I used the technique using Preview. Saved the photo on my computer and then uploaded it. Worked beautifully. Frances -- /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki /static/help More help: use the search button at the top of the Messages list. |

Payment options for the Yearly Premium Plan
Hi,
I'm trying to move a Yahoo group over to Groups.io. It's pretty expensive for a yearly plan, but I have a group going way back to 2004 that needs saving.? Problem is, I'm located in India, and we have members worldwide, not just in the US. I tried with my Global Card, but it was declined. I've had success paying using my card via paypal to companies in the US, so I'm wondering if its possible to pay through that? Do I not have any other options to pay? I feel stuck over here.? Thanks.? |

Based on this banner, you did not send the invitation correctly. As the banner above states, the Yahoo group invitation should have been sent to [email protected]. If you put in some other email address during the invitation process, that's why the transfer agent hasn't received it yet. At this time you need to return to your Yahoo group and send another invitation. Hope this helps, Bruce |

Re: [email protected] not working for me
Thanks for the information, Bruce. This is the status banner I get: I sent the invite yesterday afternoon. By ''It may take up to a week for us to process the invite" do they mean reply to the invite, because I'm not sure from this if they got it. My YG's posting address is evanstonpfwatch@..., so the name I typed in for i.o. was simply evanstonpfwatch. The YG address to subscribe is evanstonpfwatch-subscribe@..., so should the name I gave them have been evasntopfwatch-subscribe? As always, am so grateful for the help. Deborah ? -- -- Deborah |

I've been attempting to create a database (table) and I made an error. I see the tab to create a table, but how do I delete a table?

Oh. I don't know how to do that without distorting the image by stretching it out horizontally. :-(Deborah -- Using your favorite image editing software, you need to crop the image to the required dimensions, not just resize it. See??for more information. There are many other resources on the web. Hope this helps, Bruce |

Hotmail/Outlook email
Hello everyone,
Just thought I would post this. I have what was at one time Hotmail for my email account. There have been a lot of groups.io messages ending up in the junk mail folder for the last couple days. I know to move the emails from junk mail to my email inbox before deleting any of them should I choose to do so.. I thought I would post this in case others do not know to do this. I have no idea why this has started happening all of a sudden. I hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend. Doug |

Will download from yahoo site interfere with transfer of site to groups.io?
#transfer
So as to have a backup to an existing yahoo gorup? I've requested that all data be downloaded from the existing Yahoo groups site.? ?Apparently this could take a month before I receive a notice that the data is "ready" for download.? In the meantime I'd like to transfer the group to groups.io.? Will the download attempt from yahoo interfere with the transfer of the site to groups.io?

Re: Controlled Access?
On Oct 17, 2019, at 5:18 PM, Chris Jones via Groups.Io <chrisjones12@...> wrote: Yes; set up a Pending Subscription Message; this will automatically be sent to anyone who applies to join, and you can ask them to explain their interest in your group and admit them (or otherwise) depending on their reply. That "Pending Subscription Message" will be sent to anyone who applies to join, and the "Subscription Approval Needed" notice that is sent to Owner/Moderator will both be sent at the same time, which starts a 14 day clock before the subscription application is automatically deleted. Unfortunately at this time, there is no automatic way to not start that clock until a reply is sent to the "Pending Subscription Message". The "Pending Subscription Message" will not delay the "Subscription Approval Needed" notice, however an Owner/Moderator can put the 14 day clock on hold by 'Claiming' the application. Click on "View Pending Member" in the "Subscription Approval Needed" notice email, or go to the group's website: Admin > Members Select "Pending Members" (in the drop-down Members menu) if not already shown Click on the row (not the check box) of the Pending Member Click on "Claim Sub" at bottom of the page The words "Claimed by <your name>" will appear in a blue box to the right of the applicant's email address Now the 14 clock has been stopped and only you can approve this Subscription by email. NOTE: All Owners and any Moderator (with appropriate privileges) can still approve this Subscription at anytime at the website. This allows you to wait until you get a reply to the "Pending Subscription Message", while removing the 'approve by email' option to other Owners and Moderators. To resend the "Pending Subscription Message" (if you get no response): Check the box at the left end of that Pending Member's row Select "Resend Pending Membership Notice" in the drop-down "Actions" menu Click "Yes" in the "Verify Action" dialog window. |
