Re: AR Gemini 1 motor screw info
Thomas. ?Unfortunately the motor mounts into the gearbox and it¡¯s plastic. It does have a raised land ( images here) ( https://gemini-2.net/Losmandy_New_Gearbox.html ) so it¡¯s thicker but still

Re: AR Gemini 1 motor screw info
Hi Thomas, Sounds like the thread is stripped. You can try using loctite (blue) on the thread to secure it. There was a small change between 1.04 and 1.05 to add an extra guiding command (:mi). It's

AR Gemini 1 motor screw info
Hi, I noticed that one of the screws that hold the Losmandy G11 AR motor tight (attached is an example photo), does not tighten all the way, i.e. it loosens but still grips, the motor however does not

Re: I am getting DEC motor stalled during boot up with no buttons pressed.
It's a G1.? It worked great a few weeks ago when I used it last. I will try all the suggestions and report back. Thanks

Re: I am getting DEC motor stalled during boot up with no buttons pressed.
John is it a G1 or G2? ? ?First thing is swap Ra cable (at motor end) to DEC and visa versa. ? Does issue change axes or stay with motor ? Get back we can take it from here. ? Most of issues like

I am getting DEC motor stalled during boot up with no buttons pressed.
And the dec axis slowly rotates to the left. Boot up never completes.

Re: New Member
Hi, if you know a bit about electronics and coding for arduino this is super easy. I did exactly that for my SCT with an added Crayford style focuser. Just need a stepper motor (I used one with 1.8

Re: Power supply - is 18.2V ok?
Much appreciated Mr. Duke! I'm retiring my Kendrick power supply and will need that 4 pin Amphenol to craft a cable. 90 degree = perfect application! For the record: I see nor hear any difference

Re: Power supply - is 18.2V ok?
Just a follow up in case anyone else in the future is looking for a power supply. I've had about 4 nights with the NEC ADP57 and it's working great. I bought a "Genuine New NEC Versa AC Adapter ADP57

Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
Hello Chip, I appreciate your interest in this subject, thank you for your input. This mount overhaul process is new for me so experienced input is welcome. A couple of things, I bought this G11 used

Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
Let's do the math, what did you change? If an assembly slips apart freely at room temperature it will be just as easy to reassemble at room temperature. If you had to resort to using a dead blow
Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
Unfortunately, that was not my experience. The cleaned surfaces coated with a thin layer of assembly lube did not slip together easily. Even a couple of taps with a dead blow mallet did not make me

Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
There is no need to heat the the worm wheel for assembly. As you experienced during disassembly they are machined to fine tolerances so if there is a bit of lubricant, the surfaces are clean and

Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
Thank you for your advice. I also got some assistance from Michael Herman, he mentioned the same things all of you did. This is what I had to do. I cleaned the ring gear and heated it in the oven at

Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
These part are machined to tight tolerances and even the slightest misalignment of the bearing ID with the tube will cause the bearing to jam on the tube. You will have the same issue with the worm

Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
I would suggest moving this question to the Losmandy_Users group. They're also discussions there regarding lubrication, in particular with regard to ring/worm lubrication, that may be of interest.

Re: G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
Did you try to apply some grease to the post and the bearing? Just a tiny amount to reduce surface friction between the two.
G11 Reassembly - Ring Gear
Hello all, I know this is not a Gemini question, but I believe if anyone has seen this problem, they would be here. I have torn my G11 down to lubricate it and check the bearings. After giving a
