Re: FIRMWARE IS NOT FINISHED as of March 15, 2011
Tom, I totally agree with what Brian said. I have been reading your posts on this forum and they have really been helpful. I would say that anyone who is interested in the new system really

Re: FIRMWARE IS NOT FINISHED as of March 15, 2011
Thank you Brian It does feel thankless some times. Were it not for the encouragement of people like you, Ren??? and the people at Losmandy, it could really get to you. I don't only moderate this

Re: What is going one here?
Terry, Sorry I can't shed more light on this for you as I don't know enough about the new units yet. I can tell you that the "three dot" procedure is meant to calibrate the touch screen so that it

Sorry for again incurring displeasure for neglecting a signature . . .Yahoo groups seem quite unique in the inability to auto append a sig. and I am unused to it. I received nothing from Losmondy to

Re: FIRMWARE IS NOT FINISHED as of March 15, 2011
Tom I wanted to thank you and this group for your ongoing support for Gemini II and getting it out to us. It is a little nerve wracking to watch these threads while I still have one on order (moving

FIRMWARE IS NOT FINISHED as of March 15, 2011
Please Note to all: THE FIRMWARE IS NOT FINISHED as of MARCH 15, 2011 Modeling is still being work on. PEC is not working yet. Some targets have incorrect signs causing improper goto's. Not, sure, but

Re: What is going one here?
Terry would you please sign your messages. It is really no fun going back through messages trying to figure out who your are, so that I can properly address you. As I have said in many messages so

What is going one here?
I align Gemini 2 with an initial alignment and a yhen couple of additional alignments for better accuracy. Do a few GOTOs . . . all seems well. Then during a GOTO it just stops, well off target. It

Re: When will we have a manual for Gemini 2?
Thanks Andrew, I think you did a great job of explaining. Jim, I love your Dr. Who tag line. I believe it was Tom Baker in his first season as the Doctor, in the "Robot" story arc who said that. Yes,

Re: When will we have a manual for Gemini 2?
Jim, You might explain that reducing the brightness will help her too. Extreme differences in light levels make dark areas harder to examine. Eyes can't cope with the contrast, especially as you age.

Re: When will we have a manual for Gemini 2?
Hi Floyd, Thanks for the tip. I was hoping it would be something simple and efficient like that. Now I really can't wait for the mount to get here. It's finally getting to be OK to be out all night

Re: When will we have a manual for Gemini 2?
Jim, That is a thoughtful idea. Thanks. I will have to try and catch her next time she is outside. It is an unfortunate situation, as her husband was pretty young (49) and it was quite sudden and

Re: When will we have a manual for Gemini 2?
Polar Axis Correction works very well. Usually a regular alignment with the Polar scope and then one iteration of PAC brings the Polar Alignment to a degree of accuracy that I do not see drift. Two

Kirk Just a thought, but any way she'd be amenable to having you help her shield the light? She could still have the perceived security of having a light without it intruding on your imaging. I think

Re: When will we have a manual for Gemini 2?
Morgan, Once again, thanks for the info. I am really looking forward to getting this mount! My concern about the utility is based upon how I can image at home. I can use my house to "shade" myself
