Enable Allow Speeding Up under Menu->HC->Buttons:

You can do something similar with graphical buttons on the HC, just turn on Persistent Diamonds. You'll can then slide a button, and it'll stay pushed so you can tap the opposite button to speed up.

I tried to use the HC>Buttons menu but when I press Allow Speeding Up it won't activate.? I know it used to work a long time ago back in L5.2x but I haven't tried it since loading the first L6 beta.? This is why I was asking.?
