DE19 and FLDigi 2 #CAT #digi
I haven't worked with Fldigi, but I do use the Icom 7100 rig setting on WSJT-X for my G 106. Have you tried different rig settings with your set-up? I hope you get it going. 73 de KB2GGF -Matt

DE19 and WinLink Express ARDOP #CAT #digi
Greetings all, I have gotten my DE19 digital interface working with Winlink Express as well and thought I'd post/monument some screen shots for set up reverence. I'm using Winlink Express on an old win7 mini laptop. This was the ADDITIONAL RADIO SETTINGS window in the Virtual TNC- you'll want to pick the COM port that your DE19 is using, not remember it's RTS switching. It might be compatible with the ICOM models that work with other software as a clone type radio but I've had good luck with the NONE radio setting. And that's Upper Side Band not Universal Serial Port in the top row. This is the VIRTUAL TNC settings window. I'm set on COM5 and my COM Port is communicating at 9600 Baud. This is another thing too watch for. You may know or want to change this data flow rate to/from the hardware and that's in the Windows Devices under Ports where you'll look for or change that. I don't remember changing much else than inputting my call sign and telling the system to look for capture and playback on the USB Audio Device. I only had the DE19 plugged in and no USB microphones or sound cards so it was the only thing for me. This set up screen is under the main session not the Virtual TNC window. Again I used Manual rather than any make/model listed, we have an U-D mode on our G106 units, PTT was on COM5 and that could vary for you depending on your computers assignment of the USB then you plug it in. Mine is set for 9600 baud as a speed for talking to the DE19 and RTS mode for transmit control. It's not much of a walk though but I hope that documenting our successes with the radio will help others their equipment and keep active doing the things they they enjoy. Best 72 to everyone, N2QFD//Mal

For sale or repair 2
Hi all, as with many reaching my age ... with eyes failing, hands shaking and patience matching a Lion about to devour dinner, repair of ham radio is gone to the way past side! This G106 was purchased new by me and has somewhere around 2-3 hrs. use. Some symptoms shown by the rig ... Indicated rf output on all bands except 20 and 30 Meters, receive on some bands. Rough guess radio antenna exposed to an adjacent high rf antenna. So any of you tech special repair guys up for a challenge? Here is something to work on. Asking $125.00 plus shipping or will entertain a quote to repair. Possible trade for good 300w Watt/SWR meter..?

microphone 6
I was reading a posting on another forum which mentioned low audio on the microphone element. they stated that the following mic element has more gain. and improved the audio quite a bit just by replacing the mic element . with the g106 with the drilling of the hole this should give quite a bit of push on the audio. what do you all think? here is the link https://puiaudio.com/product/microphones/aom-5024l-hd-r 73 David ac9xh

Headphones 3
Hi all. New to the group. I thought the headphone jack on the G106's handheld mic was stereo. I'm only getting sound to one side with it. I've tried several stereo headphones that work correctly on the X6100, but don't work properly on the G106. Am I missing something? Is the G106 jack supposed to be mono? Thanks for any help!

G106 for Beginner CW
Hi, I'm learning CW and have been using FLdigi to help with decoding/encoding on an X6100. The SSB, keyboard-only transmitting doesn't help me practice with a keyer. Does anyone know of a G106 set up that would let me: - Decode with FLdigi, CWTX, or etc. - Encode/transmit via either my keyer or thru my laptop keyboard. I'm getting confident enough to try the keyer as a POTA hunter, but I'd really like the backup of the keyboard for a while! Thanks for any help! Tony KE1TLG

Digital Modes with G-106 using simple two transistor VOX 3
To operate a Xiegu G-106 on digital modes such as WSPR or FT-8 you don’t need the DE-19 accessory. This simple VOX circuit passes audio and keys the G-106 PTT when transmit audio is present.

Good press the g106 is getting lately. 5
I would assume that you guys have been seeing some of the new reviews on the g106 and they have been encouraging. When people take into account what the little radio costs and it's capabilities it's actually quite a value. It works as well as many of the other little QRP radios out there and then some. I've been looking at YouTube and at eham reviews and lately when people unlike K8MRD radio look at the rig and take into account the purchase price it gets a good review. If you expect it to perform like a $2,000 radio your dreaming. Randy AB9GO
