bananas & dates

Hi everyone,

What do you think aboout bananas and dates, are they ok on Budwig protocol or too much sugar (even though it is natural)? I do not have any blood sugar problems but still try not to it too much of sweet fruits having cancer.

1. I know Budwig had some recipes with bananas but not in FO/CC mix. Do you think it's ok to add bananas to it or better not?
2. Are dates ok to eat while drinking herbal teas? Just as a treat sometimes I crave something sweet and thought of dates but not sure if they are ok.

Thank you,
Irina

Re: amount of FOCC - sorry for this question

Shalom?Irina,
I am a little puzzled that it seems so difficult for you to mix the cheese with the oil.
"When I strictly use 100gr/ml it is hard to mix the oil in, it may take 5 min or moer to do that or it just does not mix in at all ..."
Are you mixing them by hand, or with an electric blender.? As most of us do, I use a hand held electric "wand" blender.? I used 3TBS (~42gm) oil and 6TBS (~90-100gm cheese).? Thus the ratio is?about 1::2.? Depending on the type of cheese, I might need to add a little liquid (skim milk, yogurt, lemon juice).? It never takes more than 1 minute to blend (at high speed).

I just now thought of something:? perhaps if you leave the cheese out of the refrigerator for a bit so that you will mix ROOM TEMPERATURE cheese with the oil, it might mix more easily.? I have not tested this, just thinking out loud.

I hope that this will help,

Rahel

Lothar Hirneise who is the only student of Budwig and worked closely with her for 4 years says to use 100-125gr of CC. But then if I use 115-120gr I wonder about casein and IGf and all the bad things in animal protein.... To eat 200-230gr of CC a day is a lot of animal protein/dairy!

I don't know the answer, but there are quite a few testimonials on Sandra's site.

No, I hadn't had any trouble. What do you mix the FO and CC in? My original blender came with a plastic measuring cup that is just a little larger than the head of the blender. I think that helps in mixing.

Re: amount of FOCC - sorry for this question

I think if you eat this amount (blended smooth with an immersion blender) plus you add ground flax seeds, walnuts, and organic berries, you will likely feel full from it.? I add ginger powder and cinnamon to mine as well.? There are infinite combinations for what you can add, these are mine.? Wishing you good luck with your recovery.

Hi Rod,

Please disregard my previous reply. Apparently it is too early in the morning for rme to deal with ratios and numbers. LOL.

Here in Russia we do not measure win cups or spoons but in grams. I saw somewhere in the old messages that correct dozage in grams for CC is 100gr and for the oil 40gr. From my experience it is kind of hard to mix so much oil into so little cottage chease. And to be honest I never feel saciated with that amoung for breakfast which is suprising as some people report not being able to take this amount in one take or being full after it till 3pm.
As I watched the video on ?I noticed that the dosage of cottage seems seems to be larger than 100gr and there seems to be less oil being mixed but I can not be sure as the spoons measurements are used. Today I found out that Lothar Hirneise recommends from 100gr to 125gr of quark (which will make it easier to mix the oil) and 3 spoons of oil and educational video from his clinic on Youtube on how to make FOCC again seems to use less oil than 40gr.?
Does anyone have a scale to weight 6 spoons of cottage cheese and especially 3 spoons of oil, how much would that be in grams??
I know this sounds like a stupid question but I just want to make sure I take the right amount of oil and CC.

Thank you,
Irina

Hi Rod,

The ratio isn't 3:1 cottage cheese to flax oil??

One tablespoon of flax oil weighs approximately 13.6 grams. This value is based on the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference. So, a standard tablespoon serving of flax oil is equivalent to 13.6 grams.

Re: Is is possible to have too many FOCC servings? And flax seeds question.

Hi Sara,
I first learned of the importance of the digestive enzymes; papain in papaya, and bromelain in pineapple, from discussions in this group.?

On page 115 of Dr. Budwig¡¯s book entitled ¡°Flaxseed oil As a True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer and Other Diseases¡± she writes about the importance of papaya juice during the transition phase.
I believe there are more references to her papaya and apple juice recipe, ¡°Fermentgold¡± in her German books.?

To know that it's not a bad oil, you can pay attention that the color is not too dark. Flaxseed oil made by heating is dark in color, like brown. A fresh cold-pressed flaxseed oil should be golden yellow.?

I thought maybe it smelled a bit like raw fish.?

Hi all,

I have a question re FO taste. The FO i've been using mostly has no spesific taste I think (because I do not taste the oil in the mix, so it seems it does not have a strong smell and taste). It is kind of hard to tell for me as I have not been using any oils for the past 9 years until I started Budwig. I only know how Olive oil smells and tastes because my husband really loves it but for the rest of the oils I have no idea.
I am rotating quark (3 brands that I use with clean ingredient lists) and thought to rotate the oils as well ones in a while just to be on a safe side.
The new oil that I bought has some really distinct taste, it has some fishy smell and I can definitely taste bitterness. None of that was in my previous oil. First I thought it was rancid but than I thought maybe this is the real taste of the oil??
What does your oil taste like? What is the real taste of the flaxseed oil? Is it suposed to have a distinct bitter taste and some fishy smell??
