Can't comment on the cost of display. I had the ceramic filters go bad on my FT-857D radio. Was not too happy as the radio was used at most 10 hours (it was my backup), but at 12 years old, any

Re: CAT update blocked during TX
And, if I'm not mistaken, you're supposed to keep transmissions very short when working satellites. Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/AAb9ysg>

Stripes on display
I am sure this has been asked before, but is there a fairly easy way to get rid of a few vertical stripes on the FT957 display? The seem to come and go. 73, Zack W9SZ

Peter: This behavior for several Yaesu radios (857, 817, 897) is mentioned in the SatPC32 documentation.? (Hints->Yaesu, see the Reame(Yaesu).txt file).? Manual tuning (front panel) works, but

Re: CAT update blocked during TX
Yes that is a limitation of the 857 when using for satellite operation.? It really isn't a big problem if you keep your transmissions short. Don K9AQ

Re: Quickly change power levels
You should be able to program one of the screen menu buttons (Menu 065 - 067) or the mic buttons (068 - 070) as RF power set (Menu 075).? It would make it easy to quickly bring up that setting.
