Re: NO ft-8 TX with FT-857D - Signalink interface and wsjt-x ¨C Need guidance

There is a resistor in series with the line in that opens very often. I would check it, see the service manual

I also find I can decode FT8 better with the AGC set to auto, not off.? Not sure why.? Pitty on your 590S, it's a great rig. But won't signslink's kenwood 12 pin connector cable work? That's what I use on my TS2000. Good luck

I've experienced issues like yours as well.? As a work around I have set wsjt-x and my 857D up to work digital in VOX mode.? I also have usb CODEC settings at 100% and control I/O primarily through the wsjt-x slider control, with some tweaking via the Signalink knobs.? I think I have the baud rate at 14400 or even lower.? I rotate rigs between the 857D and a TS2000 and this method works on both....with obvious cable and internal signalink changes made.? The only thing I lose is rig control from wsjt-x which to me is an acceptable trade off.? I'm sure it's an easy fix, but in my case this is good.? Also I have clip on toroid on all audio cables, plus i got good cables with built in chokes.? Good luck! Cliff W3KKO

Re: NO ft-8 TX with FT-857D - Signalink interface and wsjt-x ¨C Need guidance

Jim
Yes my signalink is connected to the rig via the data port.? My rig's settings are menu 19 CAT rate is 4800.? I never tried higher; menu 20 is CAT; menu 37 is 45; menu 38 is User U; menu 40 is 15 although not sure that matters; menu 59 is CAT; menu 88 is 50 but again, may not matter.? In wsjt-x my radio setting is PTT method VOX. This lightens and deactivates all the other settings sections. Audio input is microphone usb audio codec on mono.? Output is speakers usb audio codec set to both.? I have zero rig control via wsjt-x other than the PTT but I dont care, and all my FT8 contacts confirms it works. ?? I can also use the hand mic for normal voice operations with these settings as well so they're compatible.
Hope this helps! Cliff W3KKO

Well,
?I found at least part of the problem. I was trying to use Port 25 with SatPC32 and it will only recognize up to 16. Don't think that will fix my desire to use port sharing but at least I can get SatPC to work with the 857 now. More experiments ahead.

Mike,

I had a similar requirement with my K3, and the VA2FSQ Win4K3Suite software solved that problem for me.? VA2FSQ sells a similar port sharing package called Win4YaesuSuite, but unfortunately it does not function with the FT-857D.?? My FT-857D is currently sitting on the shelf, and I would like to reactivate it with a port sharing scheme similar to yours.? So, if you find a solution please share it with this group.
