My 857d seems to have a problem. This is the first time I have tried VHF with this radio. I have programed it as follows...
Rx:146.730 -0.6 MHz PL: 107.2 Antenna: portable from my HT via coax Power: 5w Tone is on and offset is good. Note: this radio has been modified for all-band operations. From my shack with the HT on low power I can access the repeater no issues. I put the HT antenna on the 857D and I cannot break the squelch. I can hear the outbound signal on my HT reverse so I know the radio is transmitting. While just sitting there I can hear conversations on the repeater with the 857D. Just cannot break the repeater's input squelch. The radio seems straight forward to program for 2m repeater operation. So I believe I have it setup correctly. Maybe I am missing something. On my website, I have the technical supplement and the Illustrated Parts Breakdown for the ATAS-120A. FT 817,857, 897 transfomers needed
I am searching following transformers from one of the above mentioned TRX . FT857/897 T 1001 = FT817 T 3001, L0022552 FT857/897 T 1002 = FT817 T 3005, L0022642A FT857/897 T 1003 = FT817 T 3004, L0022641A The parts are the same in all 3 devices but have a different numbers in FT817. Finally found the problem over the weekend. The "Lock" key had been

Check for stuck buttons on the radio and/or on the mic. It happens more than you think and will cause a few or more options to not work. Joe / AJ3O

If you are using the MH-59 Mic just press the Orange button 1 time that will take you out of fast mode on tuning. Make sure your setting for the Mic SEL # 59 is set to RMT when using the MH-59. save your memory from the radio before you attempt a reset and

FT-857D stuck in Fast Tuning mode
Good day.
My FT-857 seems to have become stuck in the fast tuning mode for a few weeks now. Pressing the Power or Fst mic button does not return the radio to normal tuning speed. 开云体育My FT857D has an issue where the vox turns on by itself, usually when first turning on the radio. Have you tried any of the reset procedures? Sometimes it can correct issues, but not always.
