Yes! Family Tree DNA is the testing provider for our project. Let me know if you have any questions or need assistance. Kevinl Daniel

Re: Abraham Daniel (1734 - 1798) born in Middlesex, VA
Hi, Dave,
The Y-DNA test at Abraham's page on WikiTree is from a descendant of his brother, Josiah. In all these years, I only recall one bit of descendant talk from Abraham, I think from descendants of his son Leonard. I've traced somewhat down through about the 1950s (born) on Abraham's line, but have not been in contact with anybody. The error at the wikitree is in giving Abraham's father a middle name of Earl. There is no evidence whatsoever in any records. It popped up a few years ago and is still being spread, although consistently debunked. Regards, Pam in CA |

WikiTree is not unreliable.? The families put up there need accurate sources and many members work to maintain the integrity?of the site.? There are constant connecting, sourcing and cleaning events to maintain?the accuracy of the family trees available there.? Much better than Ancestry or Family Search where anything goes.?? I don't know if this is the correct Abraham you seek, but I found this information at Middlesex, Virginia, Daniel descendants?by Robert Neville Mann and Cathrine Cleek Mann. It lists siblings and parents of Abraham born in 1734 Laura Daniels Nixon ? James Daniel (3), son of Robert Daniel (2) and Margaret Price, was born November 5, 1707 in Middlesex County, Virginia; died 1761 in Albemarle County, Virginia; married November 1, 1725 in Middlesex County, Virginia, Jane Hicks. The will of James Daniel was recorded in Will Book 2, page 94, Albemarle County, Virginia. It reads as follows; In the name of God Amen. I James Daniel of Albemarle County being sick and 'week in health but of perfect sense mind & membry do make this my last will and Testament as followeth &c . Item. I give & Bequeath unto my Son Chisley Daniel my tract of Land in Lunenburg County on Roanoak River as I bought of Walter Cambell to him* and his heirs' forever. Item. I give and Bequeath unto my son Abraham Daniel the land whereon I live with half of my tract of Land joining where Margret Abbott did live after my decease to him and his heirs f orever . 79. i. Ruth Daniel (4), born July 5, 1728, a twin; died c. 1760. 80. ii. Margaret Daniel (4), born July 5, 1728, a twin to Ruth above; died March 17, 1734. + 81. iii. Chesley Daniel (4), born January 16, 1730. + 82. iv. Abraham Daniel (4), born January 13, 1734. 83. v. James Daniel (4), born 1738; married Elizabeth Key, daughter of Martin and Ann Key of Albemarle County, Virginia. He is believed to have moved to Person County, North Carolina. 84. vi. Jane Daniel (4), born 1740; died March 10, 1740. 85. vii. Leonard Daniel (4), born 1741. This may have been the Leonard Daniel who died in Shelby County, Kentucky in 1831 |
Re: Sen John Warwick Daniel b1842 descendants?
I have looked into this line, when I didn't know where my line connected, and it is a pretty thin line, the most recent and only Daniel male I have found is a John Warwick Daniel born about 1949 to John Warwick Daniel III and Alicia Perez Moreno. If this is a correct connection I have not found any descendants for this man, California records are terrible. ? ?You have to be careful because, the name was used by people that as best I can tell are not related, most likely because of John Warwick sr and his status. It would be interesting to find a Y-dna tester though to see which line they connect up to/

Has anyone ever spoken to James Daniels?
On Family Tree DNA I have one person who is always at the top of my match lists, James Daniels. We both have taken the Big-Y 700 marker test, and we have the same exact haplogroup, and in fact we are the only two known members in this haplogroup. I've tried to reach out by email for years, but I've never heard back. On his profile, he claims to have descended from Robert DeAnyers, 1172, and claims to be associated with the surname "Daniell" from Warwick County Virginia. My Y-DNA is Is M-269, part of R1B1.?
I have three questions 1) Has anyone made contact with this James Daniels before? If so, can you speak to any connection with Brittain/Britton Daniel b1814? 2) Do you know anything about the Y-DNA of the "Daniell" s from Warwick County Virginia? Are these Daniels M-269 / R1B1? 3) How would James Daniels be related to Robert DeAnyers 1172? Are his male descendents?M-269 / R1B1? Kinds regards David Daniel (Brittain/Britton Daniel b1814) |
Re: Joseph, “Job, Jobe,” Daniel and Elizabeth Calaway DNA match to William of Cedar Creek
Kevin, I have a question or two regarding something that you said in a message in April:
"I was able to look at the results from kit #4116. They have tested to 111 markers, which is good. They have three 66/67 marker matches, one of which is to another Daniel whose haplogroup is I-M253, but the other two are to men surnamed Pryor and Robertson who are also I-M253. The match to kit #188665 is a 65/67 match. The other matches of kit #4116 to men who have taken 67 or higher marker tests, starts widening but there are significant matches though none are to Daniel men. Match surnames include multiple men named Gordon, Hitchcock and other surnames. At 111 markers, kit #4116 has only two matches, to men named Robertson and Gray." You had mentioned two men named Robertson & Gray & said they were matches to kit #4116 at 111 markers. How many generations back do you think their connections could be? I am also wondering if you are able to see the paternal ancestor listed for each of these men. I am thinking that the information could be helpful as we continue to search for Joseph Job Daniel's paternal ancestors. |

Re: Rowan NC Daniel's
Dave, the place you see the DNA participants listed like you say is probably this: This is a list of ALL of the test results, and not all of them are related. To see your actual relatives, you have to go to your own FTDNA pages at: and log in as yourself to find your actual matches. Hope this helps, Clay On Sat, Nov 25, 2023 at 1:07?PM Dave <david.matthew.daniel@...> wrote:

Re: Rowan NC Daniel's
Carolyn, yes--I do think it's generally accepted that Elizabeth Andress & Elizabeth Callaway were the same person. It is believed that she was married to an Andress before she married Job.
?
There are no Y-DNA tests in this project for descendants of Calaway Daniel, who was the son of Job Daniel & the father of Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel. However, Beverly Markland's great grandfather, Wiley Butler Daniel, was Jack's brother. She is a member of this project & is who I've been working with to determine Job's parentage.
?
There are Y-DNA tests in this project for the descendants of Job Daniel that lived in Wayne County, TN. For example, Job's son William (kit #14965), who was married to Argent, lived in Wayne County, where he died in 1849. And Job's son John, who was married to Avis, had two sons who lived in Wayne County before moving elsewhere--William Mack Daniel (kit #13589) & John Buckley Daniel (kit #4116). My ancestor was William Mack Daniel.
?
As for paper trail evidence as proof of descendancy from Job, I've actually never seen any evidence, but am actively looking.?
