Re: Rowan NC Daniel's
开云体育Thanks Clay but at the young age of 87 I ?doubt I will be climbing any TN hills again, however I did visit one in Wayne County not far from Collinwood where some of my kin are buried.? I just wasted my efforts because I did not take notes and there were no names on any pile of rocks? I assure you in any case I believe there are Daniel remains there and I wish I knew who they were.? Only the TN people know. ? Sent from for Windows 10 ? From: Clay DanielsI doubt I will ever climb hills in TN again.

James, thanks to your work sometime back, I have a three volume pdf set you compiled of the Hiram Daniel Tree that my cousin Faron Daniel sent me back in 2014. It is a great resource. My dad is shown on page 4, Clay Clarence Daniel(s). And I have talked with you before about the incorrect assignment of my ancestor Robert C. The fact that Faron, descendant of Plummer Daniel, is a DNA match me and other known descendants of Robert C Daniel, and not the Jobe & Elizabeth line clears up a lot, but we still don't know much about old Hiram. I have noticed how well you have collected more DNA matches over the years from the Joseph Daniel line. It's all a work in progress. What I do know is that my ancestor Robert C Daniel's middle name is NOT likely to be Callaway, as was once thought. And even sweet old Evelyn Daniel of Moore County Tennessee, who believed in the Robert Callaway Daniel myth wondered why? Elizabeth Callaway Daniel wrote to her son in Lawrence Co when Robert C seemed to be a family? patriarch who lived just a few miles north of Lynchburg. My wife & I visited Evelyn Daniel Vanmeter in 2003, and saw Robert C's grave and where their old house was located, out on Daniel Hollow Road. And we saw Elizabeth Callaway Daniel's grave east of Lynchburg, and even went on the road south of Lynchburg on the road to Winchester to see the grave said to be Joseph's. It is in a small cemetery up a hill, but visible from the main road. It is unmarked, but it is a quite substantial rectangular rock pile. You can't miss it. Re: Rowan NC Daniel's
开云体育I have a few bits of info for the Hiram Daniel family since during my search for our bunch these two families were in Wayne County TN at the same time and their descendants remain there,? In fact I have met and conversed with descendants from both Joseph Abraham and Hiram Daniel families in Wayne Cnty TN and surrounding area. As a mater of fact there are some inter family kin which ,makes it more difficult to be accurate also which suggest these families knew each other prior to arriving in TN.? Just a few tidbits ? ? Re: William Mack Daniel
Is this still the correct link??
If so, there is a lot more information that could be added to William Mack Daniel & Eliza Ann Melton's bio. Only one of their children is listed in this bio. They actually had seven children altogether, four boys & three girls. At least six of the seven children married & had children of their own. And both William & Eliza's birth years are incorrect. Kit #13589 appears in Joseph Daniel's bio, but it's not linked to William Mack Daniel's bio.? James, do you have any more information about Avis, John's wife?? |

Rowan NC Daniel's
Was wondering if anyone is or has researched the Josiah Daniel b 1756 d. 1830 in Rowan NC. ?? He appears to be fairly closely associated with the John and Alleck (Alexander) Daniel who are possibly connected to the William Daniel (Anne) of Brunswick who died in 1786. ? In a court case in dated 1883 the children of his daughter Pallaton who married George Lagle sued Josiah Daniel jr over a parcel of land , Josiah jr's response to the complaint included all of Josiah sr's children, those being Betsy , Slivie (Silvia) , Polly , Sally, Pally (Pallaton), William , Annie , Zadoc and of course Josiah jr. ? ?It is not clear what the relationship between Josiah and John and Alleck is, anyone have any insight ?? |
Re: Daniel Families from Pitt, Greene, Edgecombe, and Wilson Counties in North Carolina
I decided to stop with Stephen Daniel because he's the last one I can prove, and he is our 4th great-grandfather.? However, in my FTM database I have Stephen's father as Joseph Daniel (abt. 1730-abt. 1800 in Edgecombe Co.) who married Sarah "Sallie" Barnes (abt. 1730-abt. 1806, Edgecombe Co.); Joseph's parents as Simon Daniel (1678-1763, Edgecombe Co.) and Elizabeth Rogers (1682-abt. 1740); Simon's father was supposedly Hugh Daniel (d. 1700).? Yes, I do have the write-up about Hulda Smock. I have a similar lineage to yours for Robert Lanier Daniel's line; he is supposedly our 5th great-grandfather.? I have joined my brother to this Daniel group and he has Y-DNA for 111 markers.? It will be interesting to see where he fits. Many thanks . . . Liz ??
