Re: Paint schemes worn by RS-3s

Bruce,

Dad first had the U33Bs 9/24/84 and the last date was 11/22/85.

Hope this helps.

Re: Paint schemes worn by RS-3s

Hi Ed!
???? I had forgotten about the G&J. So I will need to do the G&J and Vermont patch .....as these are the only 2 I lack so far.
????? Plus I just learned about the short-lived ex-Conrail U33Bs. Found Images on the RR Picture Archive, and rr-fallenflags.org. These were acquired during the dark years of Guilford. DOes anyone know when they appeared and when they left?

Bruce

"All black" came in a few configuration (in order of appearance).

Literally all black.
All black with yellow handrails.
All black with wide chevrons.
All black with wide chevrons and "RADIO" on the cab
All black with yellow handrails, no chevrons but "RADIO" on the cab.

The 4116 also became the Greenwich & Johnsonville in a orange and black scheme.

Hope this helps.

Engine Facilties @ Kenwood Yard

Edited

I have not found anything in the way of photos of any kind of engine facilities at Kenwood Yard or did they just service the engines at Colonie back in the early 1970's? Did they refuel engines there? if so, was there any kind of infrastructure for it or did they just call a fuel truck? Was there any anything else there, like a sanding tower, etc.??

In fact, I found very little photographic evidence of the yard office. I have have only 3 photos from around 1990 and have to use all 3 to to get nearly a whole image of the north and west side of the building from a distance.

Thanks,
Ken
