Save Ronald McDonald
This is odd that I would vote to save Ronald McDonald. I know he is a clown and I don't like clowns but Ronald has done a lot for the world with his Ronald McDonald houses and he needs a break. Don't let the boneheads that want to abolish Ronald McDonald from our culture succeed. What can we do to save Ronald McDonald? I know Ronald is pretty creepy but he means well. Go eat more rare hamburgers to protest. Keep the Happy Meals and put more plastic toys in them as your protest. Stop counting calories and fat contents and just enjoy your burgers and french fries. Life is too short to worry about fat and calories. Enjoy the fast food before it becomes illegal. The Burgermeister

Zombie Apocalypse
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), we need to prepare for the inevitable tomorrow when the world ends and we turn into zombies. One more thing to worry about. I have a problem pronouncing apocalypse let alone spelling the word apocalypse. I just hope all my ducks are in order. Does anyone know what the expression "ducks are in order" means? I suspect that it has something to do with the lead duck in the duck formation. So who elects the lead duck? Do ducks vote? Are the ducks registered voters? Are they "motor voters"? Per chance the movie "Zombieland" was a precursor to tomorrow. What a great flick Zombieland was. Woody Harrelson sure knows how to blow away zombies (especially clown zombies). I hope the clown zombies are the first zombies to expire. The only good zombie is a dead zombie. Does anyone recall the movie "Night of the Living Dead"? I think it was a legend movie at the time. See you in Zombieland someday. Sweet dreams tonight, The Zombiemeister

I Know I Came Into This Room For A Reason 5
As we get older, you know the expression... I saw an elderly woman (probably our ages or even younger) at the Boerne Wally World yesterday and she had a great t-shirt which said: "I Know I Came Into This Room For a Reason". This was probably one of the most profound statements I have seen recently. I can't recall (no, really I can't recall) how many times I have come into a room and can't recall the reason I went to the room to accomplish or perform a meaningless task and have no clue why it seemed so important at the time. Too bad I can't remember the reason I came into the room. I suppose life goes on without me performint the meaningless task at hand. Whatever! I grow old; I wear my trousers rolled (not pegged however). Any one else have any senior moments like mine? Enjoy the rest of your life. Glad tidings and best wishes for you and y'all. trip through dallas 2
Linda, we were headed north today through Allen and the station was playing "I Fall To Pieces" by Patsy Cline. How serendipitous was that. GThought maybe you made to the local station. We are headed to Kansas City because Sharon's brother passed away yesterday after an extended illness. We are planning a few days in Ohio during the second week of July if anyone wants to visit. Have a great day. Keith

Memories of 1940's.......
Hi everybody, On May 1st, our mother and my siblings took construction paper and made several baskets, put wildflowers in the basket, and left them in the neighbor's porch, tapped on their door, and ran away. Did any of you do that? Gwen

Jim Smith's Wife 2
The following message was sent to a few classmates by Don and Beth Johnson. I am repeating it here for those who did not receive it. Hello, Shirley Wyss called this evening to let us know that Jim Smith's wife passed away a week ago Thursday. Shirley asked us if we would pass the news on to classmates who we have email addresses. If you can pass the message on to others, we would appreciate it. If you would like to send a card, Jim's address is: 6022 Muffly Avenue SW, Navarre, Ohio 44662. There were no calling hours, funeral or obituary in the paper. She was a very private person. Jim had gone into Mel's to get his hair cut and told Mel. So we are using this way to get the word out. It would be nice to let Jim know we are thinking of him. Thank you and Blessings to you all, Don and Beth Johnson Paul Sturpe

Hey, I heard My Name and Town Mentioned!!!
John & Rose: Hi! Sure am glad I read this email... Then on to Allen, TX to visit our son and possibly find time to visit Linda Freeland who also lives in Allen. That would be great. I enjoyed you guys stopping the last time. Give me a heads up about when ??? I'll check what I've got going on and see if we can find a mutual time and make it happen. I had a busy April with lots of performances, despite a bout I had with laryngitis. --not good for what I do. So many pollens in the air in this area that really caused my allergies to flare up. I sure don't take for granted any more my ability to "speak" or to "sing." I'm better, thank God, and have been averaging about 3 gigs a week - two next week. I've had some really fun ones lately. Anyone else coming through my way, let me know. P.S. - John - I bet you are really burning up this high-priced gas on your trip!!! Wow - it's killing me! HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY CELEBRATION !!! Date: Saturday, April 23, 2011, 7:02 AM Thanks Paul and Suzanne for letting us stopping by to visit while we are on our road trip. You were most gracious to us during our whirlwind trip we are still on. We had hoped to visit Pat and George Lee also but they were not at their home during our travel time. Maybe next time we pass through their area. Luckily the tornado devastation avoided your part of North Carolina while we were there. We spent several days in Falls Church, Va (liberal hotspot close to Washington, DC) and also Flint Hill, Va close to Shenandoah National Park. Now we are in Wooster, OH staying at the luxurious Rodeway Inn to visit friends and relatives for a few days. I hope to visit with a few classmates in the Dalton metro area before we depart. Next destination will be Neenah, WI where we lived for 9 long years. Then on to Allen, TX to visit our son and possibly find time to visit Linda Freeland who also lives in Allen. Then finally home to Boerne on April 30. I hope Texas burning has stopped by then. The drought there is horrible. We have had .06 inches of rain since March 1. Sorry about all this boring detail about our trip, but you can just skip all this trivia and I won't be offended. As the others have said, classmates are always welcome to visit with us at our home in Boerne, TX. Just let us know you are headed our way. Our home has a couple of empty bedrooms and free food. No credit cards or background checks are required. 52 Years 3
Fifty two years. That's how long it took for one of my classmates to pay us a visit! It's probably my fault for not issuing more specific invitations. Thanks to John (The Weiselmeister) and his wife Rose, the fifty two year draught was broken this weekend. Suzanne and I had a great visit with John and Rose. This was an especially nice visit since Suzanne and Rose were in the same class at Orrville. The only thing bad about the visit was that it was too short. So as to not let another 52 years pass before the next classmate stops by, please know that our door is always open and we are eagar to see any of you. Just let us know when you are coming our way. I know of the Porter boys.......they lived near my first cousin on S.W. Lebanon Road (Route 105) in a place called Bonnie Brae where a public picnic shelter was among the trees, southeast of Dalton. Larry was killed first. Then Roy got into his head about avenging his brother's death, over the parent's objections. So now they have two dead sons. The parents took it very, very badly....... .

Fw: Memories
(Notice that a "Medium" is a size 14 - 16) Remember making an apron in Home Ec? Remember Home Ec? If we have to explain "Home Ec" you may delete this.I just don't have the energy anymore. Read below. The History of 'APRONS' I don't think our kids know what an apron is. The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath because she only had a few and because it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and aprons required less material. But along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven. It was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears. From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven. When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids. And when the weather was cold, Grandma wrapped it around her arms. Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove. Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron. From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls. In the fall, the apron was used to bring in apples that had fallen from the trees. When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds. When dinner was ready, Grandma walked out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men folk knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner. It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that 'old-time apron' that served so many purposes. Send this to those who would know (and love) the story about Grandma's aprons. REMEMBER: Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sillto cool. Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw. They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron. I don't think I ever caught anything from an apron - but love... -- If you are willing to admit faults, you have one less fault to admit.. No virus found in this message.
