Re: DQ LP1 and DQ-1w
Each mans ears are diff. I wish my two subs 500.00, lp1 375.00, two sub amps sounded better then the powered Polk! That would make me more happy ! They are both hooked up so I can alternate and

Re: DQ LP1 and DQ-1w
Years ago I tried mating my DQ10s with a Polk sub (retail ~$1K, paid ~$400). It just never sounded right to me. The bass clearly went a lot deeper, but it just didn¡¯t match. Sent: Friday, June 5,

Re: DQ LP1 and DQ-1w
Dave - what you describe here is exactly my system ( 2 10's,? 2 DQ 1W's one their sides puts the 10's at a great listening level, and an LP1). I'm using two Hafler DH500's to power the 10's, and an

Re: Has Anyone Used GR-Research To Analyze/recommend Upgrades To DQ-10s?
I have three sets of Bozak symphonies . The dq10¡¯s now have better mid and high end, and powered sub equal or better bass too. Bozaks mint ones can be had for 1k. I¡¯ve spent prob 2k , reforming

Don¡¯t do it! There are plenty of online discussions about the DQ-10. As well as upgrade recommendations. Refoam surrounds if needed, recap and replace resistors. You will have to go with the

Re: DQ LP1 and DQ-1w
That sound like a plan.I have the sub and amp already. The LP1 didnt cost me much, I'm very comfortable changing out ICs (I'll put in sockets first), quality capacitors, and metallic resistors - to me

Re: DQ LP1 and DQ-1w
I want to weigh in. I¡¯m running 2 pairs of DQ-10s, 2 DQ-1w¡¯s through a LP-1 powered by 2 MC2205 for the DQ-10s and 2 MC2100 McIntosh amps. All of which have been professionally recapped to spec.

Re: DQ LP1 and DQ-1w
I've had great results by simply replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the 30+ year old LP-1 with nice new Sprague audio quality capacitors. It's easy to do if you can desolder and solder PC

Re: DQ LP1 and DQ-1w
Nope not implying that at all. The mx1 only drives one sub. The lp1 provides so much more like two subs, freq crossover selection and vol levels. I properly redone lp1 is superior to mx1. My point was

I can't decipher the majority of your reply, but you can't possibly be serious in saying that two MX-1's are equal to (much less better) than the LP-1!!!
