That sound like a plan.

I have the sub and amp already. The LP1 didnt cost me much, I'm very comfortable changing out ICs (I'll put in sockets first), quality capacitors, and metallic resistors - to me the selection of the op amp is the long pole in the tent. Do you have the part number for the Burr-Brown op amps? I've got the technical skills to change them, the issue for me centers around selecting the correct op amps especially in light of the limited capability of the LP1 transformer.

Thx

I've had great results by simply replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the 30+ year old LP-1 with nice new Sprague audio quality capacitors. It's easy to do if you can desolder and solder PC boards. I also put Burr-Brown opamps in. My system uses a pair of WOPL 700b amps. I blow a fuse now and then but I get couch shaking bass that's tight and clean. I sit my two DQ-1W's on their sides and use them to support my DQ-10's instead of the original speaker stands. It's the best sounding stereo system I've ever heard...I'm coming up on 68 years old and I've got my system done.
