Shameless!? Snagged from a friend!
I have everything that I wanted as a
teenager, only 60 years later. I don't have to go to school or
work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don't
have a curfew. I have a driver's license and my own car. The
people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant and I
don't have acne. Life is great. I changed my car horn to gunshot
sounds. People get out of the way much faster now.
?
Gone are the days when girls used to cook like their mothers. Now
they drink like their fathers.
I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row.
I decided to stop calling the bathroom "John" and renamed it the
"Jim". I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this
morning.
Old age is coming at a really bad time.
When I was a child I thought "nap time" was a punishment. Now it
feels like a small vacation.
The biggest lie I tell myself is... " I don't have to write that
down, I'll remember it".
I don't have gray hair... I have "wisdom highlights"! I'm just
very wise.
If God wanted me to touch my toes, He would've put them on my
knees.
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't
met yet.
Why do I have to press one for English when you're just going to
transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?
Of course, I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice.
At my age "Getting Lucky" means walking into a room and
remembering what I came In there for.
I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can't
remember their names.
Now, I'm wondering... did I steal? this meme from you, or did you
steal? it from? me?

Elegance Of Queen Elizabeth
This is an old email message I had saved from 2018.? Took a bit of
searching to find but I love how this shows Queen Elizabeth thru the
years and her total class and poise.??? She truly was an elegant and
lovely woman in all respects.
Someone Noticed The Coolest Thing
About The Way The Queen Matches Her Outfits, And We
Can’t Unsee It
Being the Queen of the United
Kingdom, based in a city like London, Queen
Elizabeth quite naturally has to deal with rain. A
lot of rain. Therefore it’s not unusual to see her
out and about on official duties, braving the
drizzle under an umbrella with her gracious nature
and a smile.
But
have you ever noticed that her umbrella and
outfits almost always match? Since 1993, the Queen
has used her preferred style of umbrella, the
classic??made by Fulton. Naturally, being who
she is, Queen Elizabeth gets hers custom made in a
variety of shades, so they blend in perfectly with
her vast array of outfits and hats.
It’s
the piece of fashion inspiration we never knew we
needed, especially with winter approaching! Scroll
down below to check out old Queenie’s rockin’ rain
style for yourself, and let us know what you think
in the comments!

There's
a viral conversation going on right now about how "your

Knutsson.

"You'll

Fleet cautioned socialist supporters in the U.S. from
embracing a dangerous ideology and "abandoning freedom."
XI VAN FLEET:?I just want to say
it's so ironic. 36 years ago, I run away from
socialism when I left China to come to this great
country for freedom. Today, so many Americans [are]
abandoning freedom and?. They have no
idea what socialism is about. I lived under Mao's
socialism. When the government controls everything and
makes all the decisions big and small and decide how
much grain, meat [and] cooking oil I could have. What
I should learn in school, where I should live, and
what job I should have and how I should think. In the
socialist society I lived under, there was no choices.?. And that's what
people do not know. Socialism becomes such a diluted
word and it's intentional. I can tell you, China is a
socialist country. Cuba is a socialist country and so
is North Korea. They are a socialist country run by
communist parties. And what's the difference? What's
the difference between socialism and communism? Not
much. Socialism is the initial stage of communism,
according to Karl Marx.?

After a difficult life of abuse in a Virginia
breeding facility,??is now living happily
ever after.
Mama Mia, a 7-year-old beagle rescue, was one
of roughly 4,000 dogs who were??in July.?
The
Cumberland, Virginia, facility – where dogs were found
injured, underfed and sick – was accused of multiple
ethics violations from federal agencies. Animal rights
activists say the canines were abused under the guise of
medical research.
"They
would take food while [Mama Mia] was breastfeeding and
put it right outside of her cage so she could see it and
smell it but she could not get to it," Beagle Freedom
Project founder Shannon Keith told KTTV.?

"They
did that to starve her and her puppies to see the effect
of mastitis," Keith added. "Her puppies died as a
result. They tortured her and they tortured her
puppies."
But
Mama Mia's luck turned around when she met Prince Harry
and Meghan Markle, who reached out to the Beagle Rescue
Project to adopt an elderly dog.
"Mama
Mia ran to them and we had never seen her do that with
anyone before," Keith recounted. "She just knew that
this was her people."
"Prince
Harry sat on the couch, and she ran to him and put her
paws on his knees. Her tail was wagging a million miles
a minute," she added.
The begle
reportedly ran to Prince Harry and put her paws on
his knees during the visit.
Keith
told KTTV that initially, she didn't realize she was
speaking to the Duchess of Sussex during the initial
phone call.
"I
didn’t know who it was. She was saying she’s been
supporting Beagle Freedom Project for years and now that
her family is settled here in Montecito they were ready
to adopt."
The Humane
Society of the United States worked with the
Department of Justice and animal welfare partners,
including Homeward Trails, to find the new homes for
the rescued beagles.?(Sue

Beagles
are considered??because they're a
loyal and docile breed.
"They
actually told me on my very first rescue, they said we
choose them because they’re forgiving," Keith explained.
"After
we test on them, they trust us and they let us do it all
over again," Keith said of the inhumane testing done on
the dogs.

Over Sixty - not a joke - Good Health Reminder
I cannot vouch for the truth of this story, nor the origin, but it
sure cannot hurt to remind all folks to drink plenty of fluids,
especially during warm weather, and to stay hydrated.
I sure do (wine, whiskey, etc) - No just kidding! ? I do try to
drink lots of ice water, and I am hooked on diet root beer and peach
ice tea.? Also use a lot of crystal light.
Here is a space saving hint - I buy crystal light pouches to make 2
quarts.? Seldom enough room in the fridge for the 2 quart pitcher.??
I mix the whole packet with water in a soda stream bottle, and keep
it in the fridge.? I know it is too concentrated... when I want some
I put some ice cubes in a glass, add half water, fill with the
concentrated crystal light and give a stir.? Quick and easy, takes
up less room.? --Gin

Liechtenstein,

Whenever
I teach
clinical
medicine to
students in
the fourth
year of
medicine, I
ask the
following
question:
What
are the causes
of mental
confusion in
the elderly?
Some
offer: "Tumors
in the head".
I answer: No!
Others
suggest:
"Early
symptoms of
Alzheimer's".
I answer No!
With
each rejection
of their
answers, their
responses dry
up.
And
they are even
more
open-mouthed
when I list
the three most
common causes:
It
may sound like
a joke, but it
isn't. People
over 60
generally stop
feeling
thirsty and
consequently,
stop drinking
fluids.
When
no one is
around to
remind them to
drink fluids,
they quickly
dehydrate.
Dehydration
is severe and
affects the
entire body It
may cause
abrupt mental
confusion, a
drop in blood
pressure,
increased
heart
palpitations,
angina (chest
pain), coma
and even
death.
*This
habit of
forgetting to
drink fluids
begins at age
60, when we
have just over
50%of the
water we
should have in
our bodies.
People
over 60 have a
lower water
reserve.
This
is part of the
natural aging
process.*
But
there are more
complications.
Although they
are
dehydrated,
they don't
feel like
drinking
water, because
their internal
balance
mechanisms
don't work
very well.
People
over 60 years
old dehydrate
easily, not
only because
they have a
smaller water
supply, but
also, because
they do not
feel the lack
of water in
the body.
Although
people over 60
may look
healthy, the
performance of
reactions and
chemical
functions can
damage their
entire body.
1)
*Get into the
habit of
drinking
liquids*.
Liquids
include water,
juices, teas,
coconut water,
milk, soups,
and water-rich
fruits, such
as watermelon,
melon, peaches
and pineapple,
orange and
tangerine also
work.
*The
important
thing is that,
every two
hours, you
must drink
some liquid.
Remember
this!*
2)
Alert for
family
members:
constantly
offer fluids
to people over
age 60
At
the same time,
observe them.
If
you realize
that they are
rejecting
liquids and,
from one day
to the next,
they are
irritable,
breathless or
display a lack
of attention,
these
are almost
certainly
recurrent
symptoms of
dehydration
Inspired

water now?

Army
soldier aims to rescue desperate dog that snuck onto
overseas base: 'He deserves to come home'
Nonprofit
Paws of War is helping Army soldier get an innocent puppy
out of danger — and onto safe ground in the US
An??is doing all he can to rescue
his best buddy — and deliver the little guy from a war
zone to safety.
U.S. Army Specialist Howe, who is currently
deployed overseas, got the surprise of his life when he
spotted??recently.?
The pup
had discovered a way to sneak onto the base.
The
small dog ran through a gate and immediately clung to
the soldier, Howe told Paws of War, an animal rescue
nonprofit based in New York.
The
scared puppy was apparently seeking shelter from the
"cruel" and "dangerous" conditions of the area outside.

named Doc gives his rescuer, Army Specialist Howe, a

"It was
as if he knew me," the soldier said.
Howe
named the puppy Doc and gave him food and water, since
he was "very dehydrated and desperately hungry."
Now,
Doc refuses to leave the soldier's side.
He's
given the whole camp a "much-needed morale boost," Paws
of War shared with Fox News Digital in a statement.
"He
walks around his newfound family members, wagging his
tail and giving kisses in exchange for a few belly
rubs," the organization said.
Army Specialist
Howe, whose identity needs to be kept private for
security reasons, sits with his rescued puppy, Doc.??(Paws of War)
The
other soldiers joke around with Howe, calling Doc his
"shadow," since the dog is "constantly behind" him.
"Wherever
I do, he’s right there," he said.?
"I love
having him with me."
Howe
admitted that he and his fellow soldiers "sleep better
at night" just having Doc close by.
The
soldier promised his pup that he would do "everything
[he] could not to leave him behind" — which would
require shipping the puppy home to Kentucky.

Paws of
War was eventually contacted to help the soldiers get
the job done — and the group obliged.
"I can
finally keep my promise to Doc," said the serviceman.?
Howe
explained to Paws of War that as a proud infantryman, he
took a pledge to "help and protect" — so saving Doc
comes as an "indescribable relief."
U.S. Army
Specialist Howe holds his rescue pup, Doc.?(Paws of War)
"He has
done so much for us here," he said.?
"And he
deserves to come home with me where he'll be safe."
Doc is
currently being kept in foster care while he awaits a
flight out to the United States. Officials are not sure
of the dog's breed as of yet; they plan to run DNA tests
once the animal is on U.S. soil.?
The New
York-based Paws of War, headed by co-founder Robert
Misseri, has brought over 300 dogs and cats — all
rescued by American troops overseas — to safety in the
U.S. since 2014, according to its website.
"Doc
may be just one dog overseas, but it’s one dog's life
that we can change and prevent his soldier from feeling
the guilt of having to leave him behind," Misseri told
Fox News Digital.
The
co-founder explained that he's heard many heartbreaking
stories of military members who've had no choice but to
leave their pets behind — and how it "forever weighs so
heavy on their heart."
"We
have the opportunity to change that now," he said. "They
both deserve to be together."
Just
within the last few months, Misseri and the Paws of War
team have completed more than 22 international missions.
That
includes the reunion of two Navy sailors and their
rescue dogs — pups that were saved from near-certain
death in the Middle East.
"I
didn't know what to do because we had to leave, and I
could not live without them," veteran Coreen Johnson
said in a Fox News Digital interview.
U.S. Navy Chief
Petty Officer Matt Johnson and Navy veteran Coreen
Johnson are shown in a selfie with Ruby and Sunny.?(Paws of War)
The
pups named Ruby and Sunny were successfully shipped to
their owners last month, after the married couple
relocated to Japan.
"We
don't need our stuff," she said.?
"We're
just happy to have them with us."
Donations
for Doc's rescue mission and the rescue missions of
scores of other animals are currently being accepted at

Later Ferragosto

meaning by
coinciding
with the Feast
of the
Assumption of
the Virgin
into Heaven,
also
celebrated on
August 15th.

Throughout
the country,
Italians
celebrate the
day with
colorful
religious
processions,
festivals
overflowing
with live
music and
fireworks and,
naturally,
great feasts.
Roma comes
alive for the
Gran Ballo
di Ferragosto,
a city-wide
party during
which every
street, square
and corner
becomes a
place for
dancing.
