Good Morning,
I know I have seen this thread before, but alas, I am unable to locate it.
I am finally getting station back together and still fighting my township for towers¡but ¡
In preparation for returning to the airwaves, I am catching up on QSL cards.

I would heartily recommend GlobalQSL.com for bureau cards. They print your full-color custom-designed card, including the QSO information and ship it to the foreign bureau for about 13 cents a card. DxLab will generate the ADIF file you send to them. You can upload hundreds of QSLs within a few minutes. No fuss, no muss, no printing, no ink, no labels, no postage, no sorting and you don't have to be an ARRL member.

Buck, had thought about doing that too,? But, I see more and more notices about this guy and that guy, no longer responding to Buro cards, and wonder just how much waste of money and time it is to try that way.? Any idea as to the percentages of outgoing for which you eventually get a response??

I too was looking at Global QSL for buro cards, I register and have look at my Inbox of QSL's supposedly they have sent to my CT buro, but some of them I never receive here some are from 2011 and others older than that.
Other problem is with there QSL software, on the backside I never see the grey square that appear on the tutorial, the other is only 5 QSO's,? I've send an email on the contact form about two weeks ago but never got any replay back.
If it work ok, the price is good and no work to separate the cards, I'm thinking to just got 100 cards and try it.

If you are going to print a lot and you want to save money and print quickly I would look at the new Epson Eco tank printers. They use ink bottles that you can buy at a fraction of the price of cartridges and even the lowest cost model comes with a claimed 8000 BW AND 3500 color Pages in the box. I do not consider myself to be a high print user BUT my wife prints an average of 10 pages of Target coupons a week and I print maybe 10 varied pages a week and almost no pictures. My HP564XL cartridgeS ?(Ha means Extra Large, right!) need replacement about 3-4 times a year at a cost of about $250 a year, even at Sams Club. Yes the printer I want is about 300 dollars but would pay for itself in ink cost savings in 1 year or less. It is also MUCH faster at a true 20 pages per minute including color pages. The original ink would last 2 years and after that around 40 bucks for another 2 years. Take a look.? I realize I might print more but would not regret the high cost per page as it would dissapear.? iPad Gil W0MN Hierro Candente Batir de Repente 44.08226 N 92.51265 W

You can't blame Global if someone decides to stop answering buro cards or if your buro takes forever to get to you. ?At 13 cents a card I can't get too upset if they don't respond ??

I don't notice any difference between Global and when I did it all myself. Actually I upload to Global more often because I don't have to wait for a big batch and I don't have to find the time to do all the sorting etc to send to ARRL. So maybe the Global way is faster. The receiving DX has no way of knowing how he got the card. It just comes through his buro like before.

Figured that would be the case.? Yeah,? the only thing better (besides easier to do the outgoing) is the time.? I suspect, with Global they might even send them out faster than the buro does from ARRL.? The faster out, the faster in, or so saything the Sun gods.? I might try that on a batch here shortly.? These days, I am just answering incoming cards, since pretty much worked everyone needed on the bands, and if something comes up I do need, it will be DIRECT anyway.? Certainly cheaper than buying ink every other month, and easier than cutting up card stock here, the way I do it now.? I have always made my own from this QTH, but it is getting far and few between when I get around to it now.

Figured that would be the case. Yeah, the only thing better (besides easier to do the outgoing) is the time. I suspect, with Global they might even send them out faster than the buro does from ARRL. The faster out, the faster in, or so saything the Sun gods. I might try that on a batch here shortly. These days, I am just answering incoming cards, since pretty much worked everyone needed on the bands, and if something comes up I do need, it will be DIRECT anyway. Certainly cheaper than buying ink every other month, and easier than cutting up card stock here, the way I do it now. I have always made my own from this QTH, but it is getting far and few between when I get around to it now.

I understand that Buck.? But, I considered the other end as well, because I was there - for almost 20 years.? I made thousands and thousands of contacts.? If each one of them sent me a card every time, for every contact, I probably would have just stopped keeping envelopes on hand.? At some point, the time spent in QSLing becomes so much that you lose hours of making those contacts.?? I personally have no need for 12,000 California cards, on each band and mode.? If I don't need your card, I wont send one to you in the first place, but am obliged to do so If I get 30 of them from you.? Too many stations doing that, and the whole system collapses.? When I get a card from someone, It is notated on the logfile, as needing to be answered.? Occasionally I will print up a bunch, and those will be amongst them.? True, I have to keep a note, also, as to which ones go which way:? I.E. buro, sase envelope from them, direct, etc.? But can handle that easier than a ton of cards a month.? HI.??
