Transfer my Win7 Laptop DXLab to new Win10 Desktop help needed.
Hi,
All working great on the Win7 laptop but want to free it up to use other places. Have new Dell win10 desktop and started to install.? Reading the instructions got a fresh install on the desktop ok to the root default directory of C:\. The Win7 is in a directory C:\Ham Log\ ---- all ok but when saved setting to Workspace on the Win7 then couldn't get the Win 10 to see it.?? Think need to list new Win10 folder as C:\Ham Log\???? like the laptop. Tried to do this in the new computer but can't seem to get it to install correctly.? Did an uninstall thru control panel and not all got uninstalled so manually uninstalled what I thought was left. Then did reinstall with new C:\Ham Log\ and Launcher ok but all others still wanted to go to the root default. Bottom line is there a simpler way to move the log to the new Win10? Can I run on both computers? Maybe stay with the Win7 Laptop? Sorry so basic but getting frustrated. Tnx in advance. 73? Phil? |

Re: Spot Collector Question
Yeah I figured all the reasons you listed, but thought I would ask. Thanks Rich.

Subject: Re: [dxlab] Spot Collector Question The reason you don't hear a spotted station may have to do with propagation or may also be due to you just getting there too late. Sometimes a station calls CQ once or twice and is spotted but by the time you get there he is gone. They may also give up or change frequency because they become frustrated with all the lids and cops on their frequency. It happens and has noting to do with how long NA-E or NA-W is viable. This is an optional parameter that you can set but I believe the default is 60 minutes which IMHO is quite reasonable. 73, Rich - W3ZJ On 2/25/2016 10:29 AM, 'Bob Main' bobmain1@... I sometimes don¡¯t hear the station that has been spotted at all, so I was wondering how long does the NAE and NAW ¡°Y¡± stay there before it is no longer considered viable? -----Original Message-----AA6YQ comments below From: dxlab@... [mailto:dxlab@...] Sent: Thursday, February 25, 2016 9:41 AM To: dxlab@... Subject: [dxlab] DXKeeper not seeing Pathfinder I reported a few weeks back that sometimes DXKeper does not know that Pathfinder has started. The exact symptom was that entering a callsign in the Capture window and striking <enter> did not cause a Pathfinder lookup. Upon checking it was found that the DXKeeper title bar did not contain "PF", indicating DXKeeper was not aware that Pathfinder was running. Dave suggested a re-boot, and this did cure the problem. However, over the past few weeks it has often happened again, though with no pattern I can determine. The computer is only used for DXLabs, and I have re-started it several time since then. Is there something I can check that may be causing this odd behavior? 73,Windows provides the communications among DXLab applications. If that communications is erratic, it's generally an indication that Windows is not in good shape; the fact that rebooting Windows restores communications reinforces this diagnosis. What version of Windows are you using? Dave, AA6YQ |
