Re: Frequency Dependent Device output to Serial Port

Dave,
?
I am trying to set the antenna switch on the amp to overcome the auto-band select limitation.? The problem is that amp has band definitions of 20-15 and 12-10.? If the amp selects the antenna based on its frequency detection, only 1 antenna is assigned to a band.? So, you cannot auto select a 17 or 12 m antenna seperate from 20 or 15.? My case is,
?
Ant 1? ?6 m beam
Ant 2? ?Tribander (10/15/20 m)
Ant 3? ?Multiband Dipole (40/17/12 m)
?
The frequency detect/band definition select works, but here is what happens since they did not provide seperate bands for 12 and 17 m.
If I assign 10 m to Ant 2, frequency detect of 12 m goes to Ant2. ?
If assign 15 and 20 m to Ant2,? frequency detect of 17 m goes to Ant2.
If I assign 40 m to Ant3,? frequency detect of 40 m goes to Ant3.? And only can get 12 and 17 m on Ant3 with manual front panel select or remote command (I have check that out with my terminal program).
?
Hope this helps.? Also, thanks for working with you in the past on the JST-245 capability.? I use every day.

How do I log QO100 QSOs in DXKeeper correctly using Flex 6600

How do I log Satellite QO100 QSOs in DXKeeper correctly using Flex 6600?

All my QSOs on QO100 Satellite are showing the wrong Tx frequency (10Ghz instead of 2.4Ghz). ?When I look at the Logged QSO in DXKeeper it shows as 10Ghz (3cm) for both TX & RX frequency?

?I am using WSJTX v2.80 improved and DXCommander to control the Flex 6600. I have it configured for Slice A as my RX on 10Ghz (3cm) ?and Slice B as TX on 2.4Ghz ?(13cm) using the Transverter settings.

All works as it should except TX frequencies are recorded incorrectly.

Its the antenna switch in my Palstar 1k-la RF Amp.
+ The user manual for that amp

?
+ is confusing, as it describes different External Data Connectors on page 10 and page 11.
?
+ I don't see any mention of an "antenna switch".

+ Likely, you can enable the amp to follow your transceiver's frequency by using Commander's Secondary CAT Port configured to use the Kenwood protocol. I'm basing this on the "RS-232 Band Control (Kenwood) pinout" table shown on page 10 of the user manual.

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/ControlDeviceViaSecondaryCATPort

+ I once asked the owner of Palstar for documentation describing his automatic tuner's control protocol so that I could extend Commander to support it, and was told to pound sand. Not my favorite company...

Re: DB records

Greetings to all!
The number of Spot Database Entries as shown in configuration spot database tab, does it count unique callsigns of spots or not?

+ The "Size Control" panel on that tab displays the number of Entries in your Spot Database. Since there can be multiple Spot Database Entries with the same callsign - because a station has been active on different bands, or in different modes, or at different times of the day - the answer to your questions is "not".

+ To better understand how the Spot Database works, review the first paragraph of

Is there a way to prune DB by keeping a specific amount of unique callsigns?

+ No. Why would that be useful?

This is a VERY bad idea. Several times a year I use qrz.com to get email addresses to alert hams who are having some kind of on-the-air problem when on-the-air contact is not possible. It's one of things that hams have traditionally done for each other.

The only thing I know abut designing cards is contained in the
DXKeeper Help file and the DXLab WiKi - particularly:
<>

You could use Paint (or other image manipulation program) to overlay
a transparent white box in your background image where DXKeeper will
print the confirmation and QSO details. Similarly, careful choice
of type face, size, weight and color all contribute to legibility.

Re: Electronic QSL

Hi all,

Until recently, I was getting 5 or more electronic QSL's from numerous sources, until I took my email address out of QRZ and put it in my bio with an (at) instead of the @ sign.
I did try unsubscribing from two sites, but that did not stop emailed QSL's from arriving here. I also noticed that all were already confirmed via LoTW, so I really did not see the point of this spam. If they were from folk that do not use LoTW, I would have responded (via email) to suggest that if they want a card, then use the bureau, as an electronic card is not valid for anything.

From what I can see, these electronic cards are simply an ADIF dump to one of these services, and not personalised at all, which is pointless.

I therefore totally agree with Joe on this.

I have also gotten many of these. Some are nice cards, other's very
generic with a "typewriter" font that's hard to read. I should just dump
them but I have been answering since old habits die hard. I also send to
eQSL, LOTW and CLublog automatically when the QSO is terminated.
I made up a card with Paint Shop Pro (any paint/art program will work)
with everything, address, grid square, county etc but the QSO info. When I
get a card, I look in DXK for the particular entry and highlight it and
copy to clipboard in the popup. This goes to wordpad which I copy and in
Paint Shop Pro, add it to the card I made which now has the needed info
added in text. Save it and send it off.
Odd that when I copy to clipboard, I do not get all the info...i.e. the
signal report is missing although it is in the log entry and was
highlighted and maybe copied. No big deal...I just add the sig report. Is
there a limit to what can be copied to the clipboard in DXK?

+ Rather than generate a QSL card image populated with QSO information and
place it in the Windows Clipboard, perhaps a new "Generate text QSL"
right-mouse menu command could be an augmented version of the current "Copy
