Kenwood TM-V7 and CTCSS

I decided to turn on CTCSS on my Allstar/Kenwood TM-V7. I thought I would be able to open up the squelch but it apparently turns on COS when the squelch is open but no station is transmitting?
Has anyone else run into this or is it just me? For now, I had to adjust the squelch so COS is not triggered.

A setup procedure for the HamVOIP image is in the Files section of this group.

A DINAH is not "plug&play".? It must be properly setup.

The Icom706MK2G is initially (Factory) set in menu for 9600 baud. Check, or change Initial Set Mode Items, Menu #29 for 1200 baud.? Page 54 of the Icom 706MK2G manual.

Double check the In/Out levels of the DINAH - the 706 data port recommends a Data Input Level of 0.4 Vp-p (0.2 Vrms)?? Read the procedure on page 37 of the Icom 706MK2G manual.?

RTFM!

Worked fine on my TM733A but when I changed radio to ICOM706MK2G I can't get it to work. I will revisit the TX/RX settings once I get a change. WIll keep you posted.

I will double check when i have change to tinker with the setup.? I will give an update once i revisit the setup.

Since you're using the RPI 4,? I would like to suggest you download and install the? Allstarlink ASL 2.0.0 Beta version.? This includes the Echolink configuration as well.
Plus the supermon which will allow you to control the software remotely.??
The Allstarlink ASL 2.0.0 Beta version is what I personally installed after failing multiple times with other version.

Yes, this is well known.? But, the levels for the sound-modem adapter must be correctly set.
In Linux/Raspbian, alsamixer is used to properly adjust levels.

DINAH is compatible with the data jack wiring on the 706MK2G.?

?Is the red LED on DINAH on when the radio is transmitting?

What setting are you using for I) in simpleusb-tune.? It should be active low.

Re: Dinah not turning on.

Unplug the DINAH and try again.? If it does not boot then you have a problem with the Pi, the image on the uSD card or your Pi Power supply.

Do any LED's on the Pi light up?

Re: Dinah not turning on.

I did that and there was nothing.

Need to know if my Dinah is gone out or it just needs to be reset?? ?I unplugged it and pulled the card out and reinserted it and plugged it back in but no power light on it. Thanks!

Re: New to Allstar Link Node

Thanks for all the help. My Allstar Node has been running for a few weeks now. I have it linked to a local node and hooked up with old friends,? we used to be on the local repeater. All the information I got from this site helped a lot. Made learning about setting up a node a breeze.??
