Kenwood TM-V7 and CTCSS
I decided to turn on CTCSS on my Allstar/Kenwood TM-V7. I thought I would be able to open up the squelch but it apparently turns on COS when the squelch is open but no station is transmitting?
Has anyone else run into this or is it just me? For now, I had to adjust the squelch so COS is not triggered. |
Re: DINAH and ICOM-706MK2G
A setup procedure for the HamVOIP image is in the Files section of this group.

Re: DINAH and ICOM-706MK2G
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe Icom706MK2G is initially (Factory) set in menu for 9600 baud. Check, or change Initial Set Mode Items, Menu #29 for 1200 baud.? Page 54 of the Icom 706MK2G manual.Double check the In/Out levels of the DINAH - the 706 data port recommends a Data Input Level of 0.4 Vp-p (0.2 Vrms)?? Read the procedure on page 37 of the Icom 706MK2G manual.? RTFM! N1XP On 7/1/23 15:51, Emmanuel Bee wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYes, this is well known.? But, the levels for the sound-modem adapter must be correctly set.In Linux/Raspbian, alsamixer is used to properly adjust levels. |
Re: DINAH and ICOM-706MK2G
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý? What OS are you running Echolink/Allstarlink on?? Did you adjust the TX/Rx levels?A DINAH is not "plug&play".? It must be properly setup. N1XP??? On 7/1/23 14:59, Emmanuel Bee wrote:

DINAH and ICOM-706MK2G
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýICOM-706 MK2G has a 6 PIN DIN connector at the back of the radio.? It appears from the schematics that the pins are compatible with the DINAH. I am using an RPI with Echolink/Allstarlink software installed. I connected the DINAH to my ICOM-706 MKIIG and the RPI.? To test the setup, I connected to my RPI node. It appears the ICOM-706 MK2G is transmitting.? I¡¯ve adjusted the Squelch on the radio as high as possible to try to eliminate unwanted noise. This did not resolve the issue.? I need guidance as to what else I need to set to make the setup work properly. ? FYI:? I was able to make the connection work on a different radio,? Kenwood TM-733A. ? ? Re: New to Allstar Link Node
For the Allstarlink software.? You can download the software from allstarlink.org??
Since you're using the RPI 4,? I would like to suggest you download and install the? Allstarlink ASL 2.0.0 Beta version.? This includes the Echolink configuration as well. Plus the supermon which will allow you to control the software remotely.?? The Allstarlink ASL 2.0.0 Beta version is what I personally installed after failing multiple times with other version. |
Re: Dinah not turning on.

Re: New to Allstar Link Node
Thanks for all the help. My Allstar Node has been running for a few weeks now. I have it linked to a local node and hooked up with old friends,? we used to be on the local repeater. All the information I got from this site helped a lot. Made learning about setting up a node a breeze.??
