Re: DINAH and Alinco DR-735

So with the DR-735 in TNC mode, the DR-735 is not asserting COS.? Is that correct.

What voltages do you measure from DINAH's JP3 to ground with TNC enabled and the DR-735 receiving/not receiving a signal?

DINAH and Alinco DR-735

I've been using my DINAH interface with an Alinco DR-735 Dual Band Mobile, and it seemed like all was well. The DINAH and included Mini DIN cable plugs right into the back of the radio, and is nearly plug & play. Enable the radio's internal TNC, and DINAH can talk to the radio just fine.

I made a discovery that makes the DR-735 not fit for using as a node radio. The Alinco DR-735 completely ignores any and all CTCSS or DCS settings, and passes the received audio to the TNC, and obviously, to DINAH. If I turn the TNC off, then the DR-735 behaves as it should, and received signals without the proper CTCSS or DCS settings are not passed. Without the TNC enabled in the radio, DINAH can't talk to the radio, so that's a dead end.

Back to the drawing board...

The G707 and the V7 have recessed 6 pin mini din. I had to do as? suggested and shave the hub of the connector on the cable a bit for a different application? for using a V7 .

I have on JP11 1&2 bridged,? and 3 & 4 bridged.? ? Any other jumpers require changes from default ?? ?
You just need to bridge JP11-3 to 4.? This provides sufficient current through the SSR input LED for it to operate when the default JP4, JP5, JP6, and JP7 setting are used.? Bridging 1&2 halves the resistance and thus doubles the current.? It won't break anything with it jumpered though.

Getiing about 3,2 Volts on the COS which drops to zero with incoming rx
So COS it is working OK.? Are you having an issue

DTMF 3 and 6 not being decoded #file-notice

Recently installed most current version of Hamvoip.? Running on a RPi3b+ with a Dinah and a Kenwood TM-G707.? Everything works great when I use my 2nd G707 and I can see all DTMF being decoded properly in the CLI.?

When I use my Baofeng UV5 HT, my TYT, or my Retevis I am unable to get 3 and 6 to decode.? I've set my levels properly using the PDF and video.? Everything else decodes fine.? I've muted DTMF on the HT's as well and I've checked to make sure they are in Wideband.

What am I missing here?? Why is only 3 and 6 not decoding.? All the others decode correctly every time.

Any help would be appreciated.? I know people are using Baofengs to access their node.? How?

BTW, I've followed the guides with no luck.? Everything else is decoded fine and it decodes fine with my 'quality' HT's

Thanks.

Using option2 in simpleusb-tune-menu, do you get anything on the meter when you transmit to the ft-8800 from another radio?

I check alsamixer and the mic was MM. I changed it but it didn't make a difference. Neither did changing packet speeds in the radio. I checked the jumper again on the board too. Set to Pin5 1200 bps. The audio level is probably -100db or more. Either the Dinah board is bad or the radio is. At this point I am not sure what else to check. As I said, I am borrowing a friend's 8900 to see if it works. If it doesn't, then we are pretty confident it's the Dinah board.

Re: FT8800

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

With either HamVoIP or ASL, any changes that you make in alsamixer or amixer will be overridden by which ever USB channel driver you are using when Asterisk is loaded.

I have a custom script on a radio-less node that unmutes the microphone audio of the sound fob so I can hear my own audio through my headphones without the delay of Asterisk in duplex=2. I've even used this with a DINAH on a crossband repeater for zero latency local transmission between bands with HamVoIP acting as a repeater controller, but I wouldn't recommend this on a radio with baseband audio. Lots of ways this could break. Plus, you won't get squelch tail elimination or any filtering for PL.

Point is, if I change all the levels in alsamixer, and unmute the microphone for playback when Asterisk isn't running, then load asterisk, it reverts to the settings set by simpleusb, which is generally a good thing.

Re: FT8800

I do not believe that AlsaMixer is used in the HamVOIP distribution.? Anybody know if this is correct?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A correction on the miniDIN wiring mentioned previously:

Pin 4 is 9600
Pin 5 is 1200
Jumper JP1 is configured for 1200 (pin1 connected to pin 2)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can enable RX Boost in the simpletune menu to get 20 dB of gain for received audio but Dinah does not need it if things are working correctly

When you open asterisk with asterisk ¨Crvvv, the v¡¯s determine the verbosity and it will stick on the highest. 4 V¡¯s would mean level 4

To change it lower, use set verbose 3? or core set verbose 3 after opening the asterisk console.

Re: FT8800

I dont think my emails are going through so I will reply here.

The DINAH has a jumper that determines whether pin4 or Pin5 are used for audio from the radio.

The radio determines this based on the packet speed.? Try changing the radio packet speed in Menu 26 to the "other" and see if incoming audio works.
