Re: New C14 Owner
Hi Richard, Thanks for the info. You brought up some interesting points. I have a Celestron 6.3 f/r and an Optec 3.3 and am curious if they will perform OK on the C14. They are both made for

Hi Gary, I enjoy my TV 55 a bunch... other fav's with that scope are the Pan 35 and Nag 20. Have fun! Bruce Ellis www.nee-bee.com from a building in other two learn as CCD eypieces.

eypieces. For the CCD side, you need to understand that unless you use Fastar, you will be imaging at very long focal lengths. with the F/6.3 focal reducer (actually reduces the C14's nominal f/11

New C14 owner
Greetings all, I'm the new owner of a C14 with Fastar, purchased via Astromart from a member of this group. I share a three telescope roll-off roof building in central Ohio and presantly have a

Re: Celestron F/6.3 reducer/corrector
I measured mine. The clear aperture of the lens itself is 40 mm The aperture of the field lens on my TV 35mm Pan is somewhere between 35-37mm (I can't get the ruler down the spout!!)so there should

Celestron F/6.3 reducer/corrector
Does anyone know what the clear aperture of the f6.3 reducer/corrector is? I have some very wide field eyepieces and would like to know what kind of performance I would get. Thanks Bill

Re: [C14] Re: CI-700 Mount
Hi john, I agrree with C14. is Just too big for The ci-700 and the G-11 - to much vibration and the clutches slips - even at good ballancing. Los. HGM 200 or AP. GTO 1200 or Paramount CM1100S or ME

Re: CI-700 Mount
I baulked at a C14. Just too big!! But I did buy a C11 on a Ci 700 I wish I had the G11 because I think it is an easier to use mount with the friction clutches; otherwise I don't think there is too

goto the Dan is right on both points. Ditch that old fork mount and get a real mount. You might even be able to sell the fork mount. Does it have GOTO capability or can it be retrofitted? If so,

Take your old OTA, remove it from the fork arms and base, slap a Losmandy dovetail bar on it, then mount it on your favorite equatorial mount (be that Losmandy, Bisque Paramount, or Astrophysics).

Re: Glad to be here
Just note that you can buy just the OTA and skip the CI700 mount entirely. I am quite happy with the OTA just did not care for the CI700 mount at all. rdc www.geocities.com/rdcrisp Astronomy club

Re: [C14] Glad to be here
Thanks Kevin. That's about what I hear on the CI-700. My Astronomy club has a fork mounted C-14 that they have had loaned out for the past 4 years. They get it back in February and are considering

Re: [C14] Glad to be here
Good evening Ron: Exactly! The slippage is a problem. Also, I can't get unguided CCD images much beyond 30 seconds with the CI-700, even in Fastar mode. I was hoping for better performance from

Re: [C14] Glad to be here
Kevin I'm seriously considering getting the C-14 GOTO. Can you tell me the issues and fixes you've had with the CI-700? I would assume most have to do with the RA Clutch slipping. Ron

Good Morning: I just discovered this group and am glad to be here. I purchased my C-14 (mounted on a CI-700) in March of this year. I absolutely love the C-14 although I have had a few issues

I believe all of the Starlight cameras use the same diameter body so the HX916 should fit. I'm not sure at what point you'll get vignetting for a camera field that large. FWIW www.astrovid.com
