Hi Farhan,

?

Well this schematic is not up-to-date.

?

Well one of your pledgers shared the updated schematic and made a things clear

?

Can you please explain why did you use U3 instead of a simple DPDT relay for Antenna for Rx/Tx Cycle.

?

Also if you may , explain the use of a Zener Diode for FSA switch supply ?

?

Are there any heat issues with U7 , connecting 12V directly to it ?

?

I ask you , since I am designing it at my end

Farhan:

Think about it. In my mind, the smartest thing Ritchie did was to develop a language with no inherent I/O. He pushed all of that stuff into the standard I/O libraries, leaving the language unchanged at the core. This is why C is one of the first languages brought up on a new system: The compiler is portable. If you push your I/O stuff into a HAL cubbyhole, I think a lot of things might be easier down the road.

I agree that it's a good idea to isolate hardware support code into a Hardware Abstraction Layer - HAL.

Re: sBitx running FT8

Using a Pi 400 would lose the self-contained aspect, and might present some shielding challenges since it would be outside the box. But it's the same processor with the same ports aside from one USB 2.0 port being permanently assigned to the keyboard, so it should work fine if you can deal with those things.
