Yes that's correct, recalibration is required in this release.
The VFO calibration method has changed. From v1.26 we use multiplicative
correction (multiply by a ppm factor) rather than additive correction (add
a fixed offset). So the calibration numbers are indeed different.
Once the VFO is calibrated correctly we still need to apply a fixed offset
for USB mode, as before.

In order to start editing my Bitx40, I take stock of the components I miss. As I chose to modify the code of Raduino, with the version of Allard PE1NWL, I read and translated in French the page "User instructions for Raduino_v1.15".
If I understand correctly, I have to buy a 10tours 100k potentiometer, and install the famous function button between A3 and mass.

I wonder: has anyone here used DHL and NOT been charged for Customs? Might be a case for removal from hfsigs site. Is there an alternative available from/at that location? India Post is reliable, and not all that significantly slower.

DHL works fine for shipping into the US. ?Other countries, it can nearly double the price of your Bitx40.
I would have gladly paid $10 to avoid the 2 month grand tour of the USPS that my package took.

Allard's code does not yet drive the bfo from the si5351.
He's been careful to minimize the hardware hacks required to use his code.
Hacking the bfo like that is a relatively major change.
The current code base will continue on as version 1.
Version 2, not yet released, will allow us to drive the bfo from the si5351.
Should significantly improve calibration accuracy, among other advantages.

I show how I've added a second BPF on my blog:? In a follow up post I showed how to add a second LPF as well. Only problem is that after much testing I've found it doesn't work well. I have redone it as shown here with a socket compatible with the QRP Labs filters:    I even went so far as to rebuild the original Bitx40 LPF on a a board and reinstall it. I'm going to do the same with the BPF section of the circuit (make it pluggable, single band) and just move filters around to get to the band I want. I could probably do mass amounts of switched BPF/LPF's if I wanted, but I actually don't want. I'm going to modify my case so that the top comes off easily and I can change bands in under a minute. To me that seems like good enough without getting crazy. Dual band would be nicer, but this is plenty sufficient. -- Ryan Flowers W7RLF

I've been fiddling with my Bitx40 this week. I made the LPF pluggable, compatible with QRP Labs filters, so that it's easy to change the LPF out on for another band. I have the stuff to do the BPF too, but haven't got around to that part yet. I sat down to continue with it and noticed the time: 6:43 pm! Surely I could get the radio back together in time for the QSO night. I did. But, no output. Bad solder- whoops! Fixed that, by that time it was almost 7:30pm, no contacts. Darn! Yup...my big dx contact tonight so far was VE3RRD Al. We live in the same town !!! Nothing else even on 7.274.?
Might be time to try an afternoon net for this time of year. I usually have a HF rig on 7.277 if I'm in the shack during the day. Will be on 277 near the hours tonight if anyone in central or west coast tonight.

Things seem very quiet on the BitX calling Frequency of 7.277 that is until SW broadcasters arrived. I tried 7.177 and heard nothing. I am on 7.274 now calling CQ. Did work Russ KG0BK in Duduque,IA on 7.277 earlier but that was all I heard. Willy W1LY

This is a worldwide event for BITX40 stations starting at 7pm in each time zone. To participate, call CQ BITX on Sunday, starting at 7pm your local time. The BITX QSO Night continues through the evening and conditions usually improve after sunset, so it is worthwhile to participate later in the evening.
Suggested Best Operating Practices:
Work at QRP power levels unless conditions require more power.
Call and listen for CQ BITX on the hour and every quarter hour.

Repeat your callsign a number of times during your CQ BITX and during QSO's.
Start a QSO by confirming the callsign, location, name and signal report of the other operator.

After your initial QSO is complete, ask if there are any other stations who would like to contact.
Report your QSO's, discuss propagation, noise, signal reports, audio reports, antenna type, etc. in this thread.
