Hello Evan , Very many thanks for your prompt reply below? concerning Critical answers to UBIX 6? transceiver Kit ,? concerning connection explanations? that were missing in package.? I can now go ahead ,plug in correct polarity power , & Mic, Earphones & keyer in correct places & see if I can get it to work !!! Also thanks for explaining the white gadget is a special stylus for the small touch screen , & the extra cables with connectors actually apply to an earlier model # 5 !!!? & not this one at all !!!! I really appreciate your? assistance in this matter , & can lay my worries to rest !!! All the best? Cheers,? brendondreaver@...? ? ? ? ZL1OO? ? ? Re: Assistance required for new UBitx V6 purchaser please,
Hi Brendon,
To answer your questions: The center pin of the power connector is the positive (+) lead.? The barrel is the negative one. 1 - When looking at the front of the uBitx, the left-most jack is for the mic/PTT that comes with the kit.? The next jack to the right (middle) is for headphones or a stereo connection.? The far-right jack is for the key/paddles used for CW. 2 - The extra connectors with wires were required for the v5 and earlier uBitx kits.? This was before the jacks were mounted on the mainboard.? Re: Still Missing data for assembly of UBIX 6 kit , not even on master internet link
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýPower supply is standard - tip is positive. Key jack is the one under the encoder.? If you turn up the volume with no antenna, you will hear some background noise.? If you then use an empty phone plug, trial & error will identify the phone jack. The extra plug is for connection for digital modes. That white tool is a stylus for the front panel. Still Missing data for assembly of UBIX 6 kit , not even on master internet link
Hi Justin , That is precisely the problem ...!!!!? (? Moral = Don't assume? ) If you look closely you will note :-? The assembly data provided? on main kit link below for uBIX 6 ;? gives none of the answers to assembly? problems encountered as to :-? 1. Polarity of power supply socket on back ? 2. which sockets on front are what , assume mic. earphones & keyer , but nothing to say which is which? ? ? ?& correct? wiring for each plug to be inserted ? 3. the reason & use of extra wiring with plugs supplied? , but nothing listed as to what they are used for , ?nor for the corresponding sockets on master circuit board ? & 4, what the small white plastic? adjustment ??? tool is for? so still none? the wiser , & reluctant to plug in power as with likes of guitar effect units many have negative centre pin power , so one need to get this correct before even starting so one does not end with a circuit "cook -up".? ? ? is only half the story !!!! regards,? brendondreaver@...? ? ? ? ? ?( ZL1OO )? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brendon, Refer to hfsignals site for assembly instructions. 73, Justin B. Re: Sbitx manual
Unfortunately it will cost 500 USD. This is because of very high prices we had to pay to get raspberry pis and the 7 inch displays. The pair costed us $250. The new box is much heavier than ubitx, there is a massive heatsink. The box is big and heavy duty, lasercut and powder coated aluminium. All that plus the bigger PCBd took another $250. I hear the display prices are cooling off now. We hope we can bring down the prices once the scarcity is over. - f On Fri, Jul 1, 2022, 2:11 AM KC2UKU ED <kc2uku@...> wrote: yes that's what I like to know to? |

Re: Sbitx manual
Peter, I am testing the software. Now, it is only bug fixes. Unfortunately I am an old school ham and I have no prior experience with the digital modes.? I am writing the manual while using the radio. If all is well, this weekend. - f On Thu, Jun 30, 2022, 7:26 PM Peter McCracken <peter.mccracken@...> wrote:

Re: uBTIX no signal or reception
Ulf,
I agree with the other Dave. If you hear signals with the older arduino, then your rig is definitely not dead. I would say 70% alignment,or software incompatibility,or30% arduino problem. Dont solder or unsolder anything until you have everything up and running. you need base setting so you can compare previous to current. Check your if settings, etc. reinstall stock firmware and? get your radio back to original condition. then proceed to replace the display and the software. |
Re: UBITX v6 spazzes out when TX on 40m LSB
On one of my problem children like this one, i found that my swr was actually high even though the tuner was indicating otherwise. I built a manual tuner and incorporated an swr circuit into it and the problem was solved for that particular radio. Might double check the accuracy of the tuner.
had another one that was acting squirrly and i added caps from the board to a copper coated circuit board i installed inside the rig and then bonded it to the earth buss ground going outside.. Also evans suggestions of the ferrite beads are spot on. they take care of about 90 percent of the problems. any line carrying power, etc. I also have my power supply and radio equipment bonded to a common buss. takes alot of noise out of the front end and eliminates some of the neighborhood noise trash. I have # 6 solid going to 3 ground rods as a triad .all my equipment bond to it. But when lighting is coming close and i use a lighting detector in the shack, when it starts to light up and sqwak, i flip one switch and it grounds the incoming feed. i also disconnect all gear from any ac powered sources also. 73 David AC9XH gud thru hamcall.net,qrzcq.com and FCC |
